Co-Director's Notes (Paper Yoshi (talk))Well, hello everyone, and welcome to the August Issue of Pipe Plaza. Yoshi876 and I don't have anything new to report to you regarding the Sub-Team as a whole, although I do have some news of my own to share with you guys. After leaving my position as Mario Calendar writer, I started thinking about my future in the paper, and when I would leave the last three positions I currently hold here: Monthly Report writer, Pipe Plaza Co-Director and Upcoming Games writer (that's still me, even though I've been on hiatus for quite some time). As I told Yoshi876 and the rest of the Core Staff (and I'm using basically the same words here), I originally intended to leave all my positions this month. However, about one hour after deciding that way, I slightly tweaked my decision. Regarding my writing positions, I will still leave them both after this issue is released, but I'll try to write some sort of special Upcoming Games section by the end of the year, as it's a very special section for me, the first one I ever wrote for The 'Shroom back in January 2011, as a matter of fact. One the other hand, regarding my directing position here in the Pipe Plaza, I ultimately decided to leave it next month, as that'll mark my 30th month as Pipe Plaza (Co-)Director, and we can all agree that that's a pretty number, and thus the perfect occasion to leave the team, right? I'll have the opportunity to write these notes one more time, so I'll have plenty to say then. Anyway, before wrapping up, I would like to thank everyone who voted for Upcoming Games and Monthly Report during the time I wrote those sections, helping them reach the Top Three 12 times each, with 9 wins for Upcoming Games and a single win for Monthly Report. Hopefully, when things start to look better for me, I will be back to write those two sections once again... And that's all for now, folks. I will have one final opportunity to write those notes, so I'll have plenty to talk about then. See you around! Section of the Month (Paper Yoshi (talk))Wait, that's not it, guys! I still have to deliver the Section of the Month results (you'd guess that by the header, right?), so I'll be quick about it, as I'm running late with a legal petition from my internship here. Last month's poll got only 9 votes, so, as I've told you countless times, please be sure to vote for your favorite section in all future polls!! The Sections of the Month for July's Special Issue are... Featured and Tip of the Month, for the third and fourth time ever, respectively, with 4 votes each!!!! The third-placed section was Monthly Report, with a single vote. So, congratulations to the winners, Yoshi876 (talk) and FunkyK38 (talk)!! Well done, guy and girl!! Monthly Report (Paper Yoshi (talk))Hello, dear readers, and welcome to my last issue as Monthly Report writer. As I have just said in my notes, I will leave it this month. So, for the last time, let's check the wiki statistics from May, June and July, along with comparisons between those sets of stats. (Credit goes to Stooben Rooben (talk) and Super Mario Bros. (talk) for the table coding. Stooben originally created it when writing this section back in Issues XXIII, XXV and XXVI, and SMB based his coding for Issues XXXIX, XL and XLI – which I am using in this issue – off of Stooben's coding.)
Community Report (Driftmaster130 (talk))Hey folks, this is Driftmaster130, with the August edition of Community Report. Since I was Toa 95 (talk) was promoted from Patroller to Sysop in July, great job and congratulations. Other than that, there were no other major changes in wiki policy. Now, (Credit to YoshiKong for previously developing this coded table system)
The TPP's (Talk Page Proposals) that recently came to a close:
And as of the first week of August, there are currently no TPP's currently ongoing. NOTE: All stats and figures included in this section were correct as of August 11th. And that's all for the rather long (blame me) August edition of Community Report! See you guys next time. Featured (Yoshi876 (talk))Hello, Shroom readers. I can tell your Summer holidays (if you're on them) aren't going well. How you ask? Simple, instead of soaking up the rays you're in here reading about the Featured Articles. However, they are very interesting so I'll let you off. Featured ArticlesNo new articles have been featured in the past month. Re-Featured ArticlesOne new article has become re-featured.
FA NominationsThere are four ongoing Featured Article Nominations.
Failed FA NominationsNo new articles have failed the featuring process. Unfeatured ArticlesTwo new articles have become unfeatured.
Unfeaturing NominationsThere are three ongoing Unfeature nominations.
Failed Unfeaturing NominationsOne new article has failed the unfeaturing process.
Thanks for reading see you next month, for more Featured Articles news. Tip of the Month (FunkyK38 (talk))Ever seen the commercial that says, "They can't put anything on the internet that isn't true!"? Well, that statement is clearly false, but don't forget: Not everything you read on the internet is a lie. If you're unsure about something in an article, ask someone else for help. It's better to get a clarification from another person than to tick someone else off by deleting something that they wrote that's actually true. |
