A Magic VaseTemplate:Refneeded (also referred to as simply a Vase[1]) is a special object that appears in Yoshi's Story. Magic Vases resemble the Vases from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS; however, Magic Vases serve a different function. In Yoshi's Story, Magic Vases act similar to the Warp Pipes from other installments of the Mario franchise. By jumping on top of a vase and pushing down, the Baby Yoshi will enter the Magic Vase and be transported to a different location in the level. Unlike some (but not all) Warp Pipes, Magic Vases are only one-way, as Magic Vases are not connected to other Magic Vases, but instead generate small portals that warp the Yoshi to the next area. While jumping into the vase, the Baby Yoshi will actually shrink in size, then reappear normal-sized out of the portal (which quickly dissipates) upon reaching their destination.
