Mini Bowser Jr. is one of many wind-up toys appearing in Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge. Mini Bowser Jrs are spawned when the player uses the Bowser Jr. amiibo. Like the other playable minis in the game, he has a special ability only known to himself, that being able to stand on spikes without breaking. Meanwhile, the characters based on Mini Peaches, Mini Luigis, Mini Rosalinas, Mini Bowsers, Mini Bowser Jrs, Mini Yoshis, and Mini Diddy Kongs makes no appearance in the series.
