- In the Japan-only Nintendo Direct aired on May 31, 2015, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (pictured) was announced for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Famicom Remix: Best Choice was also announced to be released in Japan for Nintendo 3DS on August 27, 2015. Super Mario Galaxy and a new installment in the Dr. Mario series, Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure, were released on the Nintendo eShop for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS respectively in Japan after the presentation.
