The Golden Mushroom came back as a capsule in Mario Party 5, where it went under the name Super Mushroom and could be thrown to a space on the board, or used on the player for 10 coins. It's effect was still the same as from Mario Party 2 and Mario Party 3. In Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7, it became an Orb that players could only use on themselves. It cost fifteen Coins at the Orb Shop. Again, the effect was still the same.
