When a character pratfalls, he/she will fall over and be temporarily immobilized. The player will have to get up from the floor either by jumping, rolling, or attacking, which is called a floor attack. This can create chances for opponents to attack the player. Pratfalling can be caused by sudden movements, such as running, changing direction, or falling on ice. Running on a [[Banana Peel]] will create the same effect.
