A Goomnut is an acorn resembling nut that appears in Paper Mario and is from a Goomnut Tree. You can only get them by hitting a tree near Goombario's house with Mario's Hammer. When you fight the Goomba King you'll see a Goomnut Tree in the background, you can hit it to make a huge goomnut hit the king and the Red and Blue Goomba's.
It heals 5 FP and Tayce T. can cook one to make a Nutty Cake.
