Mario Tornado is Mario's down special move in Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee. When this move is used, Mario spins rapidly and then finishing full-body stretch to bash foes at the end. It is a multi-hit attack, and the last hit can meteor smash in Super Smash Bros.. If the special button is pressed rapidly, Mario can rise up in the air slightly and give him a slight recovery chance. This move appears to be similar to Luigi Cyclone and Dr. Tornado. Since Super Smash Bros. Brawl, F.L.U.D.D. replaced the Mario Tornado as his down special, and it became his down aerial instead. The attack no longer rises, which makes his recovery worse.
