Princess Zelda.

Princess Zelda is the princess of a far away land known as Hyrule. She is a member of the Hyrule royal family, and is known as the last of the family. Along with the hero Link, Zelda protects her kingdom and the sacred Triforce, from the evil Ganondorf. She contains the Triforce of Wisdom, which she destroyed into 9 shards to protect it from Ganondorf. She acts as a much more responsible Princess Peach, which is odd, as Zelda is much younger than Peach (although she doesn't look it). Zelda is always kidnapped by Ganondorf, some way or another, but is always rescued by Link.. Zelda has a few alter-egos, including Tetra, and the much more popular alter-ego, Sheik. She is connected to Link and Ganondorf because of the Triforce, and is also linked to the goddess Nayru. In the same way Peach is Mario's love interest, Zelda is Link's love interest, and their relationship is more open than Mario and Peach.

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Zelda, as in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Zelda is one of the new characters introduced in Super Smash Bros. Melee. She is a default character, along with Link. She is a very hard character to master, as most of her attacks don't do very much damage, and the attacks that do a lot damage are hard to control. She is also slow and light. Her best ability is being able to use Transform, which turns her into Sheik. This ability as a 2-in-1 character deal, or 7-in-2 attacks deal. This makes her a very tricky foe. She can also use Din' Fire, which shoots out a ball of fire, which can be guided like a missile.

It is currently unknown if she will be in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Interestingly, when Kirby uses Swallow on Zelda, he will wear Young Zelda's wimple. This is odd, as Young Zelda does not appear in the game. She was voiced by Jun Mizusawa in both Japanese and English.

Classic

The crown princess of Hyrule. Zelda entrusted Link with the future of Hyrule after a revelation came to her in the world of dreams. She knows much about the Triforce; in fact, the only person who likely knows more about Triforce lore is Ganondorf himself, whom Zelda evaded in Ocarina of Time by transforming into her alter ego, Sheik.

Adventure

Zelda is a bit slow and, because of her light frame, easy to send flying. On the other hand, her magical skills lend her reliable and explosive attack power. Zelda's easier to use if you focus on waiting and countering rather than pressing attacks. She can use Nayru's Love to reflect projectile attacks or as an offensive weapon.

All-Star

Zelda's midair Lightning Kick centers immense magical power in the ball of her foot. If she strikes perfectly, the attack is as strong as can be. If her aim is slightly off, it'll be exceedingly weak. Farore's Wind again utilizes Zelda's magical prowess, this time by transporting her great distances. It's vital to know the lay of the land before using this move.

Trivia

  • All of Zelda's moves, except for Transform, are actually Link's attacks from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The reason for this is because in the actual series, Zelda had not shown off her fighting skills, only Sheik did, and she didn't show her fighting abilities until after Super Smash Bros. Melee's release.
  • Zelda appears in Nintendo Monopoly, where she replaced North Carolina Avenue. She costs $200.
