Hi, it's Tsunami! I'm registered from a week and I have lots of things to say. First of all, I'm a big fan (but I don't need electricity to work) of the Mario series. So much that I find out to have all its games for 3DS! I have got all the consoles since the Nintendo DS Lite, except for the 2DS (2DS? Are you serious? As long it reads 3DS it's different from a normal DS). I've got lots of games for DS and 3DS but less for Wii and Wii U because I haven't got a Wii and I have the Wii U since December 2013 (luckilly, because my Wii U is not glitched). I'm a good player in overall. I'm really good on platformers and karting, not-so-bad in sport games and I suck on RPGs and puzzles (where I need a guide for 100% them). I'm also on Android! Hi, it's Tsunami! I'm registered from a week and I have lots of things to say. First of all, I'm a big fan (but I don't need electricity to work) of the Mario series. E3 Nintendo 2014 impressions
Another time, the E3 is finished. That adds a bunch of new games to the Mario series and (like everone other watches the games) I have impressions. Here you are. In the site there are other games like Kirby Rainbow Course (even if the idea is reused I don't have the game for DS so the it will be new) and the new Skylanders (I'm missing a generation...) that I don't list here (it's a Mario Wiki, neither Kirby or Skylander (it don't exist? How about making it?) wiki).
Yoshi's Woolly World
(Woolly? Is that even a word?) A Yoshi-peluche world is great: so far it seems the game with more secrets in the Mario series. And the clouds released from launching Eggs means that more athletics levels can be made and that Eggs aren't to waste. The currency here is like the Rupees from the Zelda series. And finally the plot changes? No Baby Mario and I can't image a Bowser-peluche. Erm... so? I'm not 100% convinced about this but the plot along with bosses are completely different. Let's see what this Yoshi's Epic Yarn has to offer.
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
I watch the trailer: it seems good. I watch the gameplay: my opinion change. Three questions:
- The HUD is the same of SM3DW! Beta or final? I hope beta.
- Levels are too short! OK that is based on SM3DW ones but they should make them larger. I think that I'm not gonna buy a disk game for 1 hour of play... All of the levels are beta and unfinished?
- There will be only 20-25 levels? I hope that they add something like secret stars, I'm want to see those 120 Stars from SM64, SMS and SM64DS.
If it will be released this winter, they should modify this. Completely. They can posticipy it too, but I think that the idea will be ruined by fast gameplay and amiibos? I hope that they don't unlock levels!
M vs DK
The gameplay is about the same of the others... nothing new. But stars as rating for sharing levels online looks good, like Mini Luigi. Another new idea and this game will be great. My best hope (after a Mini Luma) is the return of magnetic levels from MVSDK:MLM! but expanded in order to make custom levels that look like SMG. No cannons and limited magnetics ruin all the fun here, so make this in this game. This is the only game without gameplay checked by me, but the return of almost every element from most of the MVSDK series make me hope of a good game. All me know that games in the E3 aren't finished and everything can change.
Mario Party 10
Even if the games have the look of MP9 (which I don't like) they can't think better than making Bowser playable. Lots of fun ahead! I don't see Mini Stars: beta for E3 Demo or final decision? Anyway, I think that the idea is making it to the end without dying by Bowser. That should be expanded... and I hope that they improve Bowser Party as much as Mario Party, like two stories and the same number of minigames. They can even split up games, making both Mario Party 10 and Bowser Party, but I think that this shouldn't happen. However, I'm not 100% convinced. I want to see more, but unlike CTTT (where I'm about 40-55%) here I'm about 90% convinced, because Mario Party minigames look less creative, they should develop Mario Party more and not focusing in Bowser Party... anyway, let the tourture continue!
Mario Maker
Disk? I hope as I cann't download it... The online sharing level must be on along with level save (I hope about 50 or 100) and absolutely MORE THINGS. More themes, more enemies, more awesomenesses (like Para Piranha Plant and Para Martelkoopa and Slim Super Mushroom)... It's clearly a demo the one on E3. I want MORE but I'm convinced, I cann't wait to make awesomenesses like a Para Goomba Pyramid, Cloudly with hammer precipitations... that wuold be crazier than MKWii online (you do know Mr Bean, right? Luckilly I don't have online so I don't pass over that). I WANT AWESOMENESSES!
Game Log
The Game Log makes yet another apparence in Tsunami's Userpage... I have lots of Mario games so I split them in various tables, one per console. Finally, I gave you scores!.
NOTE 1: some games have not got a updated data, so please excuse some unclear values.
NOTE 2: a means a 1.0, a

DS games
Game | Completing | Review | Score | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | File:Logo NSMB.png | 100% completed (3 file stars)! | One of my first games, I was very excited about it. Good use of new power-ups except for the Blue Shell that don't appears in levels. The multiplayer is pretty fun and levels are pretty different. Overally good but can be better. Bad thing that I get to 8-Tower, I lose my game and I had to buy it again... | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
2 | File:Super Mario 64 DS logo.png | 107 Stars out of 150 | A good remake of Super Mario 64 (which is a good game of its own) with some new Stars. But some are very difficult to get! I've complete only 2/3 of the game (100 Stars), which I usually don't do in a game (I go much further). However, the 15 zones are much creative and full of secrets. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
3 | ![]() |
Every cup 3-starred (oh, and I have all gold trophies) and all the mission up to Level 2 3-starred (but I get at least 1 star in all them) | I think that this Mario Kart is more crazy than Mario Kart Wii due to the snaking. And playing as Dry Bones means always shortcut in Yoshi Circuit and nulling Bananas. The physics are crazy but I never get tired of beating Hard CPUs. But If played 3-4 times in a row you get tired of the tracks... | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
4 | ![]() |
I get at least 50 Gold Stars and I clear B-2 | Being freely than MLM I like it more, but being a predecessor it lacks of elements, but gots elements that don't appear in the successor. I don't like the Nonstop point feature as levels gets impossible with that. At least there are retro levels (Basement) and a level editor. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
5 | ![]() |
I have about 300 M Coins and 90 trophies | It has got more elements but the Minis cann't be stopped. Because of this levels are much more puzzles, mainly the Special ones. Too bad that the magnetic levels cann't resemble SMG, I want that in the upcoming game. | ![]() |
6 | File:MarioLuigiPARTNERSTIMElogosmaller.png | Completed... by cheating | Very difficlut, as I must cheat to beat it. The main idea is the Babaies, but then? Not much creative. And I don't like that once you beat the game you have to fight again with the Queen of Shroobs (which is very hard and I have to beat without cheats) to return to the past and then on the present. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
7 | File:Logo ML3.png | Completed... by cheating | The game is great. But still have the same difficulty of PIT. I have then to cheat again, but this time I am very happy to play this without needing to lose hours to power-up. Very creative. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
8 | ![]() |
Story Mode completed, except the Curling missions | Pretty fun and I like Story Mode. Events are good (NOT CURLING) but after a while repetitive. Mission sometimes are though. But still is a good game. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
9 | File:Logo DKRDS.jpg | Story Mode completed | Similar to Mario Kart but with more veichles, it is a good idea. Races are OK, but I dislike the Wish Track because 1) they're short 2) you cann't pass on the same point twice 3) THEY'RE TOO SHORT. I hope in a level editor with more space and unlimited length. | ![]() ![]() |
10 | ![]() |
Story Mode completed, almost all figurines unlocked | I had reached 99999 points but I accidentally delete the file. I'm |

11 | ![]() |
I have such amazing record... | I'm not all that good at making microgames and they are very limited. I like how the staff makes 80 good minigames to play (and very funny comics) but the very limited editor ruins all the fun. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
3DS Games
Game | Completing | Review | Score | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | ![]() |
100% completed (5 file stars)! I (mainly my mom) reach 3 million Coins | I don't like this game much because there is only a little new, the rest is reused. And the bit new isn't good. Too bad I miss the Gold Fever packs but the levels are OK. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
2 | ![]() |
100% completed (5 file stars)! | Very good game, levels and ideas, but there isn't multiplayer. Too bad... multiplayer would make the game almost perfect, but since it's absent... | ![]() ![]() |
3 | File:185px-Mk7.png | 100% completed (gold and 3 starts in every cup)! 20000 Coins reached | Finally. With this game I fell much more free while racing due to glide and water physics, but I feel me much more limited in the ground... and for the first time racing with slow characters make things harder, but still don't make me left Lakitu and using Metal Mario. | |
4 | ![]() |
Completed... within Easy Mode | Why does the RPG be difficult? In the boss battles I always use Easy Mode... ideas are still funny like Dreamy World but the graphics are a downgrade in my opinion. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
5 | ![]() |
100% Completed! 9999 Coins reached | This RPG is both easy on battles and colorful. Finally. I don't care about stickers because they still add variety to the game (they are over 150). But there are less levels that make the game shorter and some puzzles are very difficult. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
6 | ![]() |
Story Mode completed... with a few exceptions | OK, this time I hate Olympiads. Story is the worst ever made (of Mario) and events are simply. Too simply. And the character renstriction make everything more bad. The only good thing is... ehm... there is a good thing? | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
7 | ![]() |
10+ characters starred, Challenge Mode almost completed, Final Cup winned, Ace beaten | Good tennis game. I like the court variety (mostly the morph one, hope that it'll return in next installments), as well as the characters (not so much the idea of QR codes). Also, the challenges are funny but very though, like the Ace difficulty. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
8 | ![]() |
First two corses in Castle Club beaten, Triple Pack buyed (more fun coming soon!) | The game is good, like the courses, but though. I'm not good at golfing... and I dislike the DLC courses (waiting to go buying KTD to download the last one and play all them) idea. But all the courses (I don't say that DLC courses are bad) are very variable (mainly the Mario World one). | ![]() ![]() |
9 | ![]() |
Bowser Tower completed 6 times | I was about to clear the space board within 3 turns but I fail. Stupid dice! The variety of courses are good but minigames are a lame, except for the MIC and AR ones. And the only story is Bowser Tower (not so good). | |
10 | ![]() |
Story Mode cleared | If you can hear me, Boos, you're the best at hiding! Ghost variety is not all that advanced but the gameplay is good. I don't like |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
11 | ![]() |
About 100% cleared | They should make a new symbol for the 200%, like, two circles on the top and one at the bottom. Good variety of level but I think that is unchanged (except World 9) from the predecessor :/ and the good thing is Easy Mode, otherwise though. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
12 | ![]() |
Story Mode cleared | Same as NSMB2: not innovative. After Eggdozers everything is returning, and the gameplay is tiring after a while. Trivia: don't exit when you reach level 6-Bowser. You can play it only by beating 6-8. I try it, but I still found the World 6 flag when I clear 6-8 and exit. It was more pink that red. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Wii Games
Name | Completing | Review | Score | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | File:NEWSuperMarioBrosWiiTitle.png | World 2 completed | I haven't play it much because it was the 4th NSMB title and I get enough of that (4th/4). Still ideas are good but I see enough of that. There are battles, cannons, worlds... Star Coins are more difficult to found, but is a good game |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
2 | ![]() |
About 100 Star out of 121 | I think I do the best of me here. Ideas are succesfully approved, as well as scenarios and |
![]() |
3 | ![]() |
241 Stars out of 242 | OK, doing perfectly Grandmaster Galaxy is IMPOSSSIBLE. I think that I'm going to glitch it (getting Yoshi to the end), if possible. For the rest... COMPLETELY AMAZING! Doubling the Stars from SMG adds some time of play to the game (good thing I have the guide that I buy about 3-4 years ago before buying the game :P). | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
4 | ![]() |
1 Star + gold in every Cup | My favourite character is NOT Funky Kong (he's the 2nd), it's Dry Bones. The online is crazy as seen in the videos. Bikes are a good introducions (as well as tricks). Tracks are more difficult (Rainbow Road) than the previous games, as well as CPUs. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
5 | ![]() |
First board in Story Mode cleared | I love the minigames but I hate the boards. That makes a conflict... I'm trying to accept that by doing a multiplayer. Still I play two boards only and I start hating when I see that is EVEN MORE luck-based (Bomb-Omb Factory and Mini Stars halved). | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Wii U Games
Name | Completing | Review | Score | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | File:NSMBU.png | 100% Story Mode (5 file stars) completed! | Innovative and with a big game map. Good. Physics are the same but the idea are more. Finally there is something like a level editor (Coin editor... it's the same!). | |
2 | ![]() |
World 8 cleared | THOUGH. 100 seconds for a levels means you cann't spend too time for searching Star Coins (thus to unlock Superstar Road). Basically it's the same of NSMBU but the physics change |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
3 | ![]() |
100% (5 file stars + all stamps) completed! | Can we call it Super Mario Galaxy 3? Maybe... There is anything that you can have, except for gravity (thus it's not Galaxy 3). Even with everything returning the ideas are a lot. Perfect BUT World Mushroom and Flower that reuse old levels. It is so good that I decide to 100% it |
|
4 | ![]() |
50cc and 100cc 3-starred with gold + Mushroom, Shell & Banana from 150cc | Antigravity is a good thing and the graphic are awesome, but the CPUs are way harder than Mario Kart Wii. ARGH... Everything returns from old Mario Kart but I still cann't see why using buggies. They are 3 without further customization. If they really want to make a new class of veichles, they should be about 7-8, not 3. They can be either expanded or deleted. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
5 | ![]() |
Level 2 of Story Mode cleared with A+ | Why'd I stop at level 2? The reason is simple - CURLING. Same as 4 years old, on the DS, but expanded (as for the games, the Story downgrades). The Bullet Bill race is one of the best ideas. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
6 | ![]() |
World 1 completed | Level are SO long... but there is a variety that make you play without tiring. The Kongs power-ups makes you focalize on getting to the end with them. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
7 | ![]() |
A quarter of the collection completed | Can we count progress in this game? NOPE. I'm delused on how Wario fails on making good games for money, because ideas are all bad. | ![]() |
I-must-have-it list
- Kirby Triple Deluxe (probabily next week)
- Yoshi's Woolly World
- Captain Toad Treasure Tracker (SO sad that it's released this winter's holiday, not this summer's :'()
- Mario Maker (hoping it's a disk)
- Mario Party 10 (cann't wait to play as Bowser!)
- New Mario vs. Donkey Kong (now that we add Mini Luigi, they should add mini Rosalina or Mini Luma)
Favourite Characters
I have favourite characters too! I'll leave a comment for characters outside the Mario universe.
Within the Mario universe
Outside the Mario universe
- ThreeJay (from Threes, number 192) - Great guy. I want headphones too!
- Om Nom (from the Cut the Rope series) - OK, it's too cute! It's like a puppy!
- Bubbles (from the Angry Birds series) - Like Om Nom, it's very cute, more than the Blues, and I reeeeeally like its special power.
- Kirby (from the Kirby series) - I really like its concept to inhale enemies and when rides its Warp Star. Sometimes it's funny, too!
- Spyro (from the Skylander series) - I really like it the first time I ever see it and it's my favourite Skylander.
Tsunami Featured Character of the week
Every week I feature in this page a character. Check this page every Monday!
Week 4 (June 30rd, 2014 - July 6th, 2014)
Week 3 (June 23rd, 2014 - June 29th, 2014)
Week 2 (June 16th, 2014 - June 22nd, 2014)
This time, the spotlight is on Dixie Kong, the kong that in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze have an autopropeller in her hair in order to make a secondary jump. This is the best power-up at Donkey Kong in my opinion. Also, her Kong Power is the best in my opinion: it transofrms the enemies into hearts. Why the best? Because once you reach the limith of Red Baloon and Banana Coins, why should you use that power? Anyway, Nintendo should make another kong: Dixdy/Diddie Kong, a mix of Dixie and Diddy Kong! It power-up is the same of when you drive in a glider section: fly up in air and then glide. This can actually be made as Yoshi and Donkey Kong make an hybrid...
Week 1 (June 9th, 2014 - June 15th, 2014)
Our first featured character is the Bony Beetle, a bone version of the Buzzy Beetle (like a Dry Bone is for a Koopa). I remember it for its New Super Mario Bros. U appearence, mainly in level 9-8, Pendulum Castle (one of the most hardest level I ever see). Its behavior is unique: moves a bit and stops for a while, retraining out its spines. Well, Pendulum Castle, which is hard for its own, adds those little and stupid creatures, making this level almost impossible. As a result I remember that I clear Pendulum Castle with a P-Acorn! I would like to give to all the Bony Beetles this Shell Trophy for being the most irritating minion of NSMBU (hey, you should be proud, it's a trophy!).

Tracks
Instead of 4 races, every cup has got 5 races + a battle after the 2nd, 3rd or 4th race (choosed randomly). Racers can use a bonus: it can be used before a race to double points (this also improves slightly CPU skills).
The points system returns, along with the star system.

- 3 stars
- 4 stars
- A giant, rainbow star
The star system valutes the difficult of cups.

RACE 1 - Mushroom Plains (A grassy course with single path. Some shortcouts are possible with Mushrooms)
Items
As now, there are 19 items confirmed.
If you end a race with an item, in the Toad Worshop a new section (the Museum of Items) opens free. Here you can donate one copy of every kind of item and storing them (which can be used in later races, thing that CPUs never does). In this game, before a VS race, battle or a secret modality, the player can choose which items appears in the race. In every race can store up to three items: one box is by default, one can be buyed and one item can be stored from yours.
A * means that you cann't use this item in Battle Mode, while a ** means that you can use this item only in Battle Mode.
Name | Description | Rarity | Most common for | Unlocked by |
---|---|---|---|---|
Banana | Usually obtained by the leaders, a Banana is a very innocue item, but placing it in the right place will do the trick. It causes flipping, that loses only a fraction of second: can be both insignificant or worth a race, depending of the moment. It can be hold or throwed forward. | 1st-4th=very common; 5th-8th=common; 9th-12th=very rare; 13th-20th=unavaible | 1st | default |
Banana Trio | A Banana isn't enough? Try this: it both offers three Bananas to use in the track and protection as the Bananas will orbit around the kart. | 1st-3rd=rare; 4th-5th=common; 6th-8th=uncommon; 9th-12th=rare; 13th-15th=very rare; 16th-20th=unavaible | 7th | default |
Banana Pell | This variant of the Banana Trio offers 5 Bananas that sticks behind your kart. You have only protection from behind attacks but you have two more Bananas that are worth it. | 1st-5th=unavaible; 6th=rare; 7th-10th=uncommon; 11th-13th=rare; 14th-15th=very rare; 16th-20th=unavaible | 9th | hitting 15 enemies with Bananas |
Giant Banana* | This Banana is made by colliding a Banana with a Mega Mushroom. Its size is about 10 times a Banana: because of this, throwing it forward is a bad idea. It's easier to run into here, and when one does this, this enormous Banana splits in three normal ones. | 1st-8th=unavaible; 9th-10th=very rare; 11th-15th=rare; 16th=very rare; 17th-20=unavaible | 12th | hitting 70 enemies with Bananas |
Gold Banana | If you need Coins, this item is for you. It's a golden Banana: it shines, so is easier to notice. When someone runs into this, 3 of its Coins will be stolen instead of finishing on the road and will be given to the proprietary of the item. | spending 300 Coins in the Toad Workshop | ||
Gold Banana Trio | Once more, this item gathers three Gold Bananas, orbiting around the kart. If used well, you can gain 9 Coins in few seconds! | spending 15000 coins in the Toad Workshop | ||
Dash Banana | Recently founded, this banana is completely red. It causes to get a small turbo when you spin out. It's more a boost than a damage? Or the counter? Some reports a turbo, some a damage. | getting 100 Miniturbos | ||
Funky Banana** | If you hate Green Shells, then you'll hate this more. This banana moves of yourself. Pretty quickly. Loves placing on your road and make you slip 3 times more a normal Banana. | hitting 250 enemies with Bananas | ||
Green Shell | Some Koopas don't want their shells so they left here. They are used here, as a bouncing, lethal trap. It's difficult to master as it can bounce out of control., so beware of hitting yourself. Some of the most epic moments are made thanks to the crazy shells that flip you. | default | ||
Green Shell Trio | Like all other Trio items, it offers three Green Shells that orbit around your kart... should I say this to you every time? | default | ||
Green Shell Army** | Looking for more craziness? A stock of 10 Green Shells on your hand should be enough. Beware of make them hitting each other... | hitting 140 enemies with Green Shells | ||
Red Shell | This Red Shell is rarer. It knows the path, it will lead to the racer preceding you and flips it. However, it cann't bounce like a Green Shell, but has a way higher probability to hit someone though... | default | ||
Red Shell Trio | When you're about to lose your hope, this item might appear... OK, you know that. Three Red Shells, nothing too complex. | hitting 15 enemies with Red Shells | ||
Winged Shell* | DANGER: this item causes destruction. Or, at least, not where you throw it, because it leads to the first place racer, hovering on the course, and makes an explosion on the unlucky racer. But someone says that have dodged this item simply with a Mushroom... | default | ||
Spiny Shell | This is only a version of the Winged Shell but powerful: first, it races on ground, flipping whoever touches, and second, it can be holded like a Banana, as well as throwed backwards. In battle mode, though, it do not explode. | Hit 5 enemies with Winged Shells | ||
Bomb Shell | Looking for destruction? This black Green Shell, after a set number of bounces or time, detonates! | Hit 3 enemies with Bom-Ombs | ||
Bomb Shell Trio** | Three Bomb Shells are a joy, but throw them fast, because the timer starts when the shell start orbiting! Cover your ears... | Hit 15 enemies with both Bob-ombs and Bomb Shells | ||
Kamikaze Shell** | The more powerful shell, is a Green Shell that bounces infinitely. It stops only when it hurts someone. | hit 30 enemies with Stars | ||
Mushroom | This item provides a boost that lets you drive on terrains like grass without losing speed! It allows to make shortcuts that can save from a few milliseconds to some seconds, depending on the track. | default | ||

Toad Workshop
The Toad Workshop is a mall that allows to spend Coins to buy things. Unlike other Mario Kart games, after the conditions for unlocking something are met, in this game that player must be buyed after that. After the market, there is also a Museum of Items, Races and Records.
Rankings
The game will have 4 ranking sistems:
- Racers;
- By country;
- By continent;
- World.
The positions are based on the points gained by racing in tournaments, like in Mario Kart 8. The racers is instead premaded and the points counted are the one gained in single player (both Grand Prix, VS and Battle). Everytime the player gains points, the other characters do so, being competitive. Usually the premaded rankings (which are always the same) stays kike they are from the start, but sometimes the rankings change, making a more custom leaderboard.
Mario Golf fanon
Developement starts June 27th, 2014! Stay tuned!
Mini Mario fanon
Developement starts July 19th, 2014! Stay tuned! The main idea is: Mini Marios adventures in a jungle. They find a Super Key and come to obtain it, but they fall in an aperture in the floor. The gameplay is to control various Mini Marios togheter and attack enemies like in Pikmin. The levels uses the antigravity (like in Super Mario Galaxy) and the goal is finding the door and save more Mini Marios as you can.
My Mario Kart records
A good racer must share their records. These are mine! Probabily you do better than me because I use always a light character.
NOTE: Due to the work of the MK8 rival project, record sharing will be posticiped! Sorry about that!
DS records
At Mario Kart DS you can get a good record only if you know how to do the snaking.
