Berries are fruit found in Dinosaur Land in Super Mario World. Yoshis could eat them for the value of one coin, however; no points are given when a fruit is eaten.
If Yoshi eats enough red berries, he will lay an egg containing a power-up.
Pink berries require a much lower amount of berries to be eaten before getting their prize: a Cloud that floats around throwing out coins.
If Yoshi eats a green berry (which are very rare), 20 seconds would be added to the in-game timer, giving the player more time to reach the goal before the timer ran out.
In Paper Mario, there are several Berry species in Flower Fields. Red Berries, Blue Berries, Yellow Berries, Bubble Berries, and Crystal Berries all appear in the game.
