Mario and Luigi getting on The Mini-Game Coaster.

The Mini-Game Coaster is a feature in the Mini-game Land of Mario Party 2. To unlock the Mini-Game Coaster, the player has to buy all of the 4-player, 2-vs-2, and 1-vs-3 minigames from Woody. The player has to pick his or her own character, and the partner for the 2-vs-2 minigames (the partner will also appear in 1-vs-3 minigames whenever the human player is part of the team of three), as well as the difficulty setting. At first, the player can only play the Easy course. In order to play the Normal course, the player has to beat the Easy course. Likewise, the Normal course has to be cleared before the Hard course can be played.

The objective is to reach the Goal. The player has three lives. If he or she loses a minigame, that player will lose one life. At 100 coins, they get an extra life. By clearing minigames in a row without losing, the player will get bonus coins for consecutive clears. All the 4-player, 1-vs-3, and 2-vs-2 minigames (except for Rainbow Run and Dungeon Dash), divided into nine worlds, have to be completed to finish the Mini-Game Coaster. At the end of the game, the player gets bonus coins for the remaining lives and coins and beating Normal and Hard Courses gives the player the ability to buy Item and Battle Mini Games off Woody, respectively.

Unlike Mini-Game Island from the first Mario Party, the player can only go forward after clearing each Minigame.

Spaces

  • Mini-Game Space - Enter this space to play a minigame. Blue spaces are uncleared spaces and yellow spaces are cleared spaces.
  • Toad Save Space - Appears at the beginning of every world. Here players save their progress.

Levels

World 1 (4-player minigames)

  • Toad Save Space
  • 1-1: Bumper Balls (lava level in Easy course, ice level in Normal course, ocean level in Hard course)
  • 1-2: Roll Call (Bob-omb in Easy course, Boo in Normal course, Toad in Hard course)
  • 1-3: Tile Driver (Goomba in Easy course, Koopa in Normal course, Boo in Hard course)
  • 1-4: Slot Car Derby (short track in Easy course, moderate track in Normal course, long track in Hard course)

World 2 (2-vs.-2 minigames)

World 3 (1-vs.-3 minigames)

Note: These four minigames as solo player (easy, normal, and hard courses).

Easy Course stops here.

World 4 (4-player minigames)

World 5 (2-vs.-2 minigames)

World 6 (1-vs.-3 minigames)

Normal Course stops here.

World 7 (4-player minigames)

World 8 (4-player minigames)

World 9 (1-vs.-3 minigames)

  • Toad Save Space
  • Goal - Baby Bowser's Shell Shocked

Hard Course ends here.

After saving, the Toad in the Goal Star will ask the player to start from World 1. No matter which answer is given, another Toad tells them it is a fake and it will transform into three Baby Bowsers. They will challenge the player to a Shell Shocked game where it's all three of them against him or her. After the Bowser bunch have been defeated, they will run away, and the real Toad that was at the save point will give the player some rewards.
