Opponents that pass a space containing the [[orb]] gets shocked by [[Amp|Zap]]s for five coins, and loses another five coins for every remaining space. In ''[[Mario Party 7]]'', it is used again for the same purpose, but opponents lose only three coins per space, similar to landing on [[Red Space]]s numerous times.
