The player starts off in a field, just before several platforms made out of dirt. After getting past the first platform, [[Lakitu]]s will start to appear and will attack the player, after this platform are several smaller ones before another large one that contains a [[Flower]] and a [[Tulip]]. After this platform will be a small grassy area with a [[Green Shell]], a [[Red Shell]] and a [[Shy Guy]]. After the grassy area are more platforms made of dirt. On the platform is a set of steps that surround a [[Crate]], which contains a [[Key]], the steps can be destroyed and the Crate must be pushed onto the wooden platform to be destroyed. At the end of the platform is a locked door. In this door is a [[Morph Bubble]] that transforms Yoshi into the [[Yoshi Train]], which is then used to collect a Flower. To get to the next area the player needs to use a [[Chomp Rock]] to get to the door.


[[Purple Yoshi]] starts out in front of a raised platform with a ground pound post with a red coin beneath. Just after, ther is a seesaw with coins on top, the last of which is red. Then Yoshi gets onto a long stretch of breakable platform. A floating breakable platform circle with a shell inside and an egg flower on top is above the beginning of the platform. Next, Yoshi gets to a seesaw, which is when Lakitu first appears. The player must be careful, as Lakitu can break the ground.
In the next area is the [[Middle Ring]], just before it is a small dirt block that contains a [[Winged Cloud]] that will sprout a [[Beanstalk]], that will lead to another Winged Cloud with an [[Exclamation Mark Switch]] that goes to a secret area, which contains lots of [[coin]]s. After the Middle Ring is an area with lots of Lakitus, Shy Guys, Fly Guys and {{conjecturaltext|[[Bubble Dayzee]]s}}, which leads to the [[GOAL! Ring]].


Later, there is another box with a [[Shy Guy]] inside before there is another seesaw. Next, Yoshi lands on a longer stretch before another seesaw which is in front of a breakable wall. Then there is a long platform with Shy Guys, a [[Winged Cloud]] with a [[Flower]] inside, and a [[Fly Guy]] with a Red Coin. There are two shells and a flower that gives out stars. Then there is another seesaw with a low ceiling above then Yoshi is off of the breakable platform.

Next, Yoshi enters an area with three vertical alcoves and connecting spaces. There are wing clouds in the top of first two alcoves, with stars in the first and a [[! Switch]] in the second. The switch will activate blocks which will help Yoshi get a chest and another Flower.

Yoshi exits the enclosed area and goes on onto more breakable material. There is a second level of breakable material above with an Egg Flower, Shy Guys, and coins, two of which are red. There is a small hill with a chest under it. Yoshi must only pound the chest open if the blocks have been activated, otherwise, he will ground pound through the floor and die. After a small regular platform, there is another hill with a Flower under it. Then there is a [[Needlenose]] before the door which requires a key. This door will take Yoshi to a bonus stage.
 
The bonus stage has a few train bubbles, a Flower and many coins. After exiting the bonus stage, Yoshi must push a chomp rock to stand on it and get to the door so he can continue.
 
Through the door is an open area with a few Red Coins (including some held by Fly Guys), a Crayzee Dayzee, and a Shy Guy pipe. Slightly before that area is a wing cloud which must be hit to make a sunflower appear. Using the sunflower, Yoshi climbs up to an alcove with a hidden wing cloud. The wing cloud contains a ! Switch, which opens up a secret pipe above the alcove.
 
After entering the pipe, Yoshi falls for a while before he gets to the ground. Just ahead, there are spinning blocks with coins on them. Yoshi must go all the way up, allowing him to obtain many coins. At the top there is a pipe, and the area above the last spinning block is full of coins. After Yoshi gets out, there are some red coin Fly Guys and a big pillar, which is made of breakable material, with a Bubble Dayzee on top. Just ahead, there is a Shy Guy pipe just before a Winged Cloud with a Flower inside it.
 
Further on, there is a group of three ground pound posts with a [[Cactus Jack]] on the middle. There is a Winged Cloud with stars under the middle post and a Red Coin under the last. Later, there are more Bubble Dayzees and two more Winged Clouds. The first one has a Flower and second has some stars. Next, there is a ground pound post with a red coin under it, which is just before Yoshi reaches the goal.
