Dr. Freezegood are snowmen wearing fezz hats, and are found in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. They ride ski lifts in World 5 and stand completely still unless they drop off on a slope. You cannot eat them, but you can step on their heads to rack up a few coins. They're harmless to touch, but they do hog up the ski lift platforms, which can become a bit of a nuisance. They reappeared in Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart DS in the snow stages. If you hit one, it will explode, causing your kart to fly up and come crashing down, making you loose considerable time. They toss snowballs at the character and can only be defeated by throwing something at him or using a special attack.
Dr. Freezegood's name probably comes from Dr. Lovegood, or perhaps Dr. Feelgood.
The more generic-looking Mr. Blizzard enemies of Super Mario 64 bear a resemblance to Dr. Freezegood.
Secreal Snowmen in Paper Mario bear a resemblance to them.
