This level starts off with an area resembling the [[Mario Bros. (stage)|stage]] from ''[[Mario Bros. (game)|Mario Bros.]]'' containing Red [[Koopa Troopa]]s and a [[POW Block]]. Hitting the POW Block makes [[coin]]s and a [[Star Coin]] fall from the ceiling. Two of the [[Brick Block]]s also contain [[Super Mushroom]]s. It is noteworthy that none of the Brick Blocks can be shattered in this area, they just simply turn into [[Used Block]]s. Going to the [[Warp Pipe|pipe]] above takes the [[player]]s to another area, where there are two more POW Blocks along the way (required to get the other Star Coins), an area with [[Firebar]]s, and the [[flagpole]].
