The Hand Traps are three levels in Super Mario Bros. 3. Nestled between volcanoes in Dark Land, they are flooded with lava but each have a Super Leaf at the end. When a player moves over them, they'll either be dragged down by a hand or allowed to pass. The player can also simply play the level if they are not dragged down but want the prize at the end.

The first level has every type of Hammer Bros. in the game, including the only other Fire Bros. since Desert Hill.

The second level is a long broken bridge with Podoboos shooting up from the lava. This level contains no other enemies.

The third is the longest with flying Cheep-Cheeps, gaps, and a Fire Flower.
