Template:Minigame-infobox What Goes Up... is a minigame in Mario Party 6. The name of the minigame is a reference to the phrase "What goes up, must come down," which is emphasized in both versions of the minigame.

Intro

In the day version, a cloud platform takes the player to the starting point. He or she then leaps off the cloud as the screen splits in four.

In the night version, three balloons lower the players to the start point. When the minigame starts, the balloons pop.

Gameplay

Between day and night, the minigame's objective is different. In the day version, the player must climb higher into the sky with the help of clouds and Koopa Paratroopas within thirty seconds. Hitting a Paratroopa instead of jumping onto it sends the player downward. Whoever reaches the highest point wins. Any players who tie for first win also, unless all players tie.

In the night version, the players must fall a distance of two hundred yards to reach the platform at the bottom first by avoiding Paratroopas and clouds.

Ending

In the day version, as soon as the game has ended, players are suspended in their current positions by balloons. The losers' balloons then pop, and they fall, as the winner preforms his or her victory animation.

In the night version, as soon as a player wins, the others are suspended in air by balloons. The victor then preforms his or her winning animation as the loser's balloons pop, sending them plummeting toward the ground.
