Ion the Prize is a Duel minigame in Mario Party 8.

Introduction

The two players will be in some sort of space lab and encased in capsules. A yellow see-saw like object appears above them. The game then begins.

Gameplay

The objective is to sort as many green and pink balls into their proper containers as possible by tilting the yellow plate using the Wii Remote. The balls fall down at a steady rate, and the colors have no pattern. During the last five seconds, the speed of the balls increases substantially. The player that gets the most in to the right container wins.

Ending

The pink and green containers retract into the alcoves on either side of the player, the metallic doors close, and the nozzle on the ceiling retracts, replaced by a hologram of a swirling fireball.

Trivia

  • The name of this game is a pun on the phrase "eyes on the prize".
