Introduction
Hey hey, this is JORDANDEBONO typing. For now I'm going to leave my page quite blank until I learn how to add pictures and a user box ALL BY MYSELF...unless anyone is offering to help me out on my talk page. (Please do so as I hate having to learn from some book or electronic manual.)
Games, Consoles and Comments
Wii
The Wii, although my favourite home console, is not my favourite console as a whole. I'm not quite sure, I just prefer handhelds I guess. I got it as soon as it came out. Don't get me wrong, although not being my no.1 fav it does have better games than the others. I go on it at least twice a week to do the community polls, judge some Miis and watch the occasional Nintendo Network video. Although this number will increase once I hopefully get Mario Party 9. On the whole though, I don't regret one bit getting this revolution in gaming tech.
- Super Mario Galaxy (This game and it's sequel fell from heaven)
- Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Praise the heavens once again)
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii (A great remake but the DS version is better)
- Mario Kart Wii (Fabulous...I never touched the Nunchuck or classic controller with this game)
- Mario Party 8 (All the minigames and boards are still stuck in my head)
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (DS version was much better)
- Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (An OK game, but I don't really play the Donkey Kong series. It never inspired me to buy the Kongo Bongos)
Nintendo DS (Lite)
The one and only DS is just awesome. I never managed to get the DSi or XL but the original and Lite are both mine, although I sold the original to get the Lite. Nintendo were very right by stating that double the screens meant double the fun! Having said this, the only good games that came out on this gem were Mario and LEGO© series games. This was probably due to the fact that graphics were considerably poor. But this still doesn't get in the way of the touchscreen, mic and overall uniqueness.
- Super Mario 64 DS (Scary when I was young, pure awesome when I grew up)
- New Super Mario Bros. (I bought this game thinking it was an original, not a near-perfect remake)
- Mario Kart DS (Before MK Wii and 7 came out, this game was to die for)
- Mario Party DS on the R4 (Great use of the touchscreen, pity I didn't buy the original)
- Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time on the R4 (Boring from beginning to where I stopped playing it)
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Best sport game I've played so far, excluding Mario Karts)
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games on the R4 (Thank the will I didn't buy the actual game)
- Yoshis Island DS on the R4 (Boring as ever. My fault though as I unlocked the museum using cheats)
- WarioWare: Touched! on the R4 (Hours of fun, pity I didn't download or buy any other games from this series)
- Donkey Kong Jungle Climber on the R4 (Lots of fun until the boss levels come along)
- Diddy Kong Racing DS on the R4 (Quite good for a Kong game, but the MK series will always be better)
Nintendo 3DS
- Super Mario 3D Land (Great game, but levels could have been longer)
- Mario Kart 7 (Best MK ever produced. I loved everything apart from the Gyro Control. I thought it would feel more like the Wii version)
Virtual Console (3DS)
- Super Mario Bros. (The best from the worst... I don't like virtual console games. The glitch is awesome though)
- Mario & Yoshi (Addicting if there's absolutely nothing else to play)
- NES Open Tournament Golf (Hard to remember when there's so much else)
- Wrecking Crew (Not too bad if the controls weren't that perplexing)
- Donkey Kong Jr. (A worthy competitor but has no cool glitch to accompany it)
- Mario Kart Super Circuit (Not too bad but overall quite disappointing for MK series game)
- Yoshi's Island Super Mario Advance 3 (Haven't played it yet)
- Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Quite surprising... reminds me of a standard DS game)
- WarioWare, Inc.: Minigame Mania (Like the one on top; very surprising. Better than Super Mario Bros, I have to say)
- Wario Land 4 (Haven't played it yet)
Other Info About Me And My Likes
Gaming
Nintendo is by far my favourite gaming company because in my opinion they have the most experience since they've been around at the beginning of the video game industry. I was born in 1999 so I don't know much about PANASONIC© and SEGA©. But I do know quite abit about SONY© and MICROSOFT©. Here are my opinions about the last two together with Nintendo.
- NINTENDO©
Nintendo are awesome in my opinion because they tend to go for games which are non-violent but fun at the same time. Their consoles are complex yet well thought out. They focus on gameplay and for me, gameplay is very important as your experience has to be enjoyable, not depressing like all those 16/18+ FPS games. Also, Nintendo are owners of some of the greatest and most successful game series in history, an example is our long time favourite: Mario. Unfortunately and fortunately, Nintendo is moving to suite a wider variety of gamers (Wii U prime example), so 16/18+ death games are slowly making their way to them. So long as Nintendo continue making Mario games, I'm fine.
- SONY©
I hope no true Sony lover will read this, but then again it's a chance for them to gain fresh ideas. Always in my personal opinion, Sony are truly copycats of Nintendo. The PS Move is a poor version of the Wii. I mean c'mon, synchronization is needed after every game mode you choose. The PS Vita is no better. We all know where the touchscreen came from, and there are rumours that the handheld will also act like a second controller for the PS3 or said-to-come PS4 like the Wii U was designed. I'm not telling Sony to utilize the latest tech, just not to copy. For example, their touchpanel was a nice touch (get it). Apart from this, their selection of games for consoles is horrible. You barely see a decent 3, 7 or 12+ game for sale. Overall, Sony is my least favourite company from the 3 although please note this doesn't include all their other products.
- MICROSOFT©
Microsoft isn't as bad as Sony although their selection of games and gameplay certainly is no better. Their not as bad as their not hot on the pace of creating new consoles, they're not copycats and let's face it, if it wasn't for Microsoft, gaming wouldn't be as good as it is today. I don't really have much against them, after all my first ever console was the original XBOX. So as quickly as I started I'm going to end.
