Cream's first appearance alongside Mario and the other Mario series characters is in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. While she is not playable, she serves as one of the referees in some of the game's events. She, along with Toad, mainly handles calling out fouls and starting races in the Athletics events.

In the next installment Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Cream continues her role as a referee in the events.
