Gun the Runner is a 1-Vs.-3 Mini-game in Mario Party 8.
Introduction
The Bullet Blitzer flies in front of a construction site and opens up to reveal a trio. The trio raises their guns as the camera turns to look at the solo player at the bottom of the site.
Controls
- Solo player: Hold the Wii controller sideways. Use the directional pad to move and the 2 button to jump.
- Trio: Hold the Wii controller vertically. Move the controller around to aim and the A or B button to shoot.
Gameplay
In this game, one player needs jump up platforms to get to the top of a large tower, while the other three attempt to stop him by shooting him/her. When the Runner is hit by a one of them, he/she will be unable to move for 3 seconds, however it takes 1 second to reload a ball. Elevator platforms go up or down and may help the runner. If the runner makes it to the top in 30 seconds, they will win the Mini-game. If the runner is unable to make it, the team will win the Mini-game.
Endings
If the solo player wins, they will do a winning pose as the Bullet Blitzer closes up and flies off with the disappointed trio. If the trio wins, they will do a winning pose on the Bullet Blitzer as solo player slumps in disappointment on the building.
