Experience Points, usually just referred to as Experience or EXP, are points used by characters in RPGs such as Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, the Mario and Luigi series, the Paper Mario series and other games like Final Fantasy and Pokemon. Usually, the amount of EXP needed to Level Up is either doubled or exponentially increased, making it increasingly difficult to do so.

In Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Star Points served the same purpose. In Super Paper Mario, Points served as EXP.
