A Dragon Coin is a type of Gold Coin only found in Super Mario World and subsequent remakes.
There are five Dragon Coins littered around every level in the game. Collecting five of them is the equivalent of collecting 1,000 Gold Coins. In Super Mario World's Game Boy Advance remake, Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World, the amount of Dragon Coins acquired are recorded on a menu, and if you collect them all, they will transform into Peach Coins.
A Dragon Coin features an engraving of a Yoshi head.
