===Opponents===

The difficulty of each opponent is shown in the game with [[Super Star|Star]]s; the more Stars that an opponent has, the more challenging they are to face as an opponent. Every opponent has different stats of Attack (effort on winning the hand), Luck, Skill (good strategy), Speed (speed on declaring ron (ロン) or tsumo (ツモ), and Defense (effort on preventing others to win). They all have different AI, and their style of play is described briefly behind the character's picture in the upper screen (while in the character selection screen). Due to ''Yakuman DS'' only releasing in Japanese, the descriptions are roughly translated to English here. The opponents are:

GoombaYDS.png|[[Goomba]] [[File:Star SM64DS.png]] <br> Does not understand mahjong very well, but he may sometimes win the game.

DaisyYDSMug.png|[[Princess Daisy]] [[File:Star SM64DS.png]][[File:Star SM64DS.png]][[File:Star SM64DS.png]] <br> She will try to use riichi to add an extra yaku and also do a closed tsumo. She will always look for a win.

ShyGuyYDS.png|[[Shy Guy]] [[File:Star SM64DS.png]] <br> He will try to win by melding.

KoopaYDS.png|[[Koopa Troopa]] [[File:Star SM64DS.png]][[File:Star SM64DS.png]] <br> Being a very aggressive opponent, he will try to win as fast as possible. He likes Chii and Pon.
