The level begins next to some Koopa Troopa and a Balance Lift. Two ? Blocks are found, one of which containing a power-up, followed by three more Balance Lifts. A Lakitu appears, which can be used to reach a Gold Ring above. Some Mushroom Platforms with ? Blocks above them can be found, along with two more Balance Lifts. The Checkpoint Flag is then found, along with two more ? Blocks and a Koopa Troopa. Three more Balance Lifts follow, along with more Koopa Troopas. Two ? Blocks that can be hit using a Koopa Troopa's shell are found on a platform, followed by more Balance Lifts. After a final Balance Lift, the player reaches the Goal Pole.

To do the trick, the player must use a Lakitu's cloud. While riding the cloud, the player must move to the Koopa Troopa (with ? blocks on each side) and stomp on the Koopa, then kick it. Repeating this enough times, will grant Mario and Luigi unlimited 1UPs.
