This level features the [[Spine Coaster]]s' first and only appearance, and is populated by several [[Lava Geyser]]s. There are no enemies in this level. Unlike [[World 8-2 (New Super Mario Bros. Wii)|World 8-2]] and [[World 8-3 (New Super Mario Bros. Wii)|World 8-3]], this level uses an edited version of the default underground background.

==Layout==
The player starts the level in a [[lava]]-filled cavern where they must [[jump]] on a [[Spine Coaster]], which later leads to another Spine Coaster. The Spine Coaster leads Mario and co. to a [[Warp Pipe]], which leads to a volcano overworld/above-ground area with the [[Checkpoint Flag|midway point]] and to another Spine Coaster. After three more Spine Coasters, the [[Goal Pole|pole]] awaits at the end. The Spine Coasters often make risky maneuvers, passing through [[Lava Geyser]]s and the lava itself.

*If the player falls under the cliff with the [[Checkpoint Flag|midway point]], they can see that the [[Warp Pipe]] connecting to the underground area is not tiled correctly, with an opening connected to a junction box.
