Then, after jumping the pit beyond the Goombas, there are some trees that have snow on them. The second tree will drop the snow, stopping Mario cold. Following those are a few [[Question Block]]s and an indentation containing deep snow. This will cause Mario to sink in a little and reduce his jump height. Soon after that are a few more trees, Goombas, and another Snow Spike. After defeating the Snow Spike, Mario can get the first [[Star Coin]]. Then there is a pit of deep snow and another Snow Spike. Defeating the Snow Spike results in the appearance of the checkpoint flag, and leaping the pit brings Mario to the second star coin.
