Writing his {{wp|Symphony No. 1 (Mozart)|first symphony}} when he was eight years old (though ''[[Mario's Time Machine (PC)|Mario's Time Machine]]'' claims it was at six), he soon toured Europe with his sister, {{wp|Maria Anna Mozart|Nannerl}}, and under the tutelage of his father, {{wp|Leopold Mozart|Leopold}}. After his tour, he became {{wp|Count Hieronymus von Colloredo|Prince-Archbishop Colloredo}}'s concertmaster at the age of sixteen after producing ''{{wp|Il sogno di Scipione}}'' (though the game claims it was at thirteen), but soon left his position as he wanted freedom. He also became greatly inspired by and the close friend of [[Joseph Haydn]]. He unsuccessfully courted {{wp|Aloysia Weber}} before successfully courting and marrying her sister, [[Constanze Mozart|Constanze]]; they then had six children, only two of whom outlived him. Despite his talent, he was often in debt, and when he died in 1791, less than three months after the premiere of his last opera, ''{{wp|The Magic Flute}}'', he was buried alongside others in an unmarked grave and his burial site remains unknown (although this was common for the time, the game insinuates that he was treated poorly specifically because he was poor; the presumed location of his grave was also marked with a tombstone years after his death).

According to ''[[Mario's Time Machine (PC)|Mario's Time Machine]]'', Mozart lacked the inspiration he needed to start working on ''The Magic Flute'' and the [[Flute]] that inspired him to compose it was stolen by a time-traveling [[Bowser]], preventing Mozart from ever starting the opera. [[Mario]] then travels back in time to [[Vienna]] circa 1791 to deliver the Flute to Mozart without knowing that the Flute needs to be delivered to him. If Mario talks to him regardless, Mario asks him if his name is Mozart, and Mozart confirms it. Mozart says that he is waiting for inspiration to strike him, and instead, Mario (which he describes as a "colorful fellow") entered his house. Mozart then tells him to leave, as his presence may scare away his inspiration. To determine the Flute's rightful owner, Mario questions other people within Vienna about Mozart's symphonies and his life history, including Joseph Haydn and Constanze Mozart (who insists her nickname for Wolfang was Wolfie, despite this detail originating from the heavily fictionalized film ''{{wp|Amadeus (film)|Amadeus}}''). Eventually, Mario definitively confirms that the Flute needs to be brought to Mozart and excitedly presents it to him. Mozart exclaims that the Flute was brought to him "as if by magic" and gratefully thanks Mario for providing him with the foundation he needs to compose the opera. Mario asks him if the Flute is, in fact, his inspiration, and Mozart confirms it. He then declares that he shall call his new opera ''Die Zauberflöte'', which he clarifies is German for ''The Magic Flute''.

*Various games, such as ''[[Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix]]'', ''[[Donkey Konga]]'', and ''[[WarioWare: D.I.Y.]]'' use some of Mozart's compositions for their line-up: ''{{wp|Eine kleine Nachtmusik}}'' appears within the former in [[Underground Mozart]], the third movement of his {{wp|Piano Sonata No. 11 (Mozart)|Piano Sonata No. 11}} (commonly known as the "Turkish March") notably appears in the first two, and the Overture from ''{{wp|The Marriage of Figaro}}'' appears in the latter.
