'''Wings''' are [[List of power-ups|power-ups]] that can be given to other course elements to modify their behavior in ''[[Super Mario Maker]]'', ''[[Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS]]'', and ''[[Super Mario Maker 2]]''. In ''Super Mario Maker'' and ''Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS'', wings are their own individual object that can be attached to most other objects by dragging them onto the object in the same way [[Super Mushroom]]s can be given to enemies to enlarge them. However, they cannot be placed into courses on their own without attaching them to anything; attempting to do this causes the wing to simply fly away. In ''Super Mario Maker 2'', wings are no longer a separate part and can instead be attached to objects using a mini-menu that appears above them when pressed, alongside the options to enlarge, attach a parachute to, or access alternate forms of an object when applicable.

Wings change an object's movement pattern in a variety of ways depending on the object. If an object that is attached to a set of [[track]]s has wings, it will move much faster along them. If the object is inside a [[Koopa Clown Car]], [[Junior Clown Car]], or [[Fire Koopa Clown Car]], it will move faster than usual. In the case of [[List of enemies|enemies]], it can be combined with the Super Mushroom and/or parachute, though if the enemy carries a parachute, the wings will not take effect until the enemy lands and its parachute is deactivated. It also causes enemies damaged by [[stomp]]s to take an extra hit before being defeated, as the first hit causes the enemy to lose its wings.

The [[Wonderful Wings]] [[glider]] from ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]'' takes the form of a pair of wings.

While in his shell, he can clear much larger gaps, and if he falls into a bottomless [[pit]], he will reappear above Mario in attempt to drop a Ground Pound on him. Does not lose his wings when jumped on.

*[[Hammer Bro]], [[Sledge Bro]] - Jumps much higher than usual.

*[[Hidden Block]] - Acts like other [[Block]]s, but does not crush Mario. It can be only be seen by the wings it carries.
*[[Lakitu]], [[Lakitu's Cloud]] - An empty cloud cannot be given wings, but when the object riding it (including Lakitu) is given wings, it follows Mario with a constant up-and-down motion alongside its usual horizontal movement.
*[[Lava Bubble]] - Flies in a diagonal line, ricocheting off solid surfaces and lava. Behaves similarly to some Lava Bubbles from ''[[Super Mario World]]''.
*[[Lift]] - Moves in a sine-like pattern perpendicular to its set direction; horizontally when set up or down, and vertically when set left or right.
*[[Magikoopa]] - The Magikoopa and its magic attack both possess wings; the Magikoopa requires an extra hit to be defeated, as with other enemies, but when its magic attacks transforms a block, the new enemy or item will be in its winged form. It also allows them to create lit Bob-ombs and Deep Cheeps (or their equivalents), while making them unable to spawn Coins, Buzzy Beetles, or Skipsqueaks.

*[[Spike Top]] - Identical to the Para-Beetle, but standing on it damages Mario; essentially a [[Spiky Parabuzzy]]. The blue ones move faster than the red.
*[[Spiny]] - Flies like the Para-Beetle, but does not work as a platform. It occasionally [[Spiny Egg|curls up]] to fire spines in either a '+' or 'x' pattern.
*[[Stretch]] - When it reaches a wall or ledge, it disappears, reappearing on top of the wall or at the bottom of the pit, and continues further. Also moves slightly faster.

*[[Yoshi's Egg]] - Flies in gentle sine wave motion through solid structures to the left of the screen. When touched by the player, it falls to the ground, where it hatches into a wingless Yoshi.
