The Wing is an item that appeared only in Super Mario Bros. Special. When Mario collects it, he will be able to fly in the sky by "swimming" through the air, gaining aquatic properties. However, the power up was only temporary, and if Mario wasn't careful, he'd end up falling somewhere undesirable. It can be considered a predecessor of the P-Wing from Super Mario Bros. 3 and later games.

The Wing is an item that appears only in Super Mario Bros. Special. When Mario collects it, he is able to fly through the air using the game's swimming controls. However, the power-up is only temporary, and if the player is not careful, Mario may fall somewhere undesirable once it expires. The item can be found exclusively in World 3-2 and World 4-1, hiding inside a Hidden Block.

The Wing functions similarly to the P-Wing that was later introduced in Super Mario Bros. 3.
