| Welcome To Yoshi's Island is a level that can be played only once when a new game is started in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its remake, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. It is mainly a tutorial in which Yoshi learns about Baby Mario, as well as using an Expansion Block and collecting coins. The level is very basic and short with no collectibles, with only a few Shy-Guy enemies strolling around, making it easy enough for beginners. In the SNES version, the player is given infinite lives for this level and thus cannot get a Game Over; in the GBA version, if the player gets a Game Over in this level and chooses to stop playing, the file will say that the level is World 0. This level is also called World 0 if the player pauses during the level in the GBA version; it says "World 0" at the top, and at the bottom, it says the level is "World 0-0." As the level ends, Yoshi begins level 1-1, Make Eggs, Throw Eggs.
| |
|
| |
| The level is also used as the final section of Endless World of Yoshis, with the addition of Kamek attacking Yoshi every few seconds as in the first section of King Bowser's Castle.

| ==Trivia== | | ==Trivia== |
|
| | *The color of the Yoshi played will be the current Yoshi the player is using on the most recently selected file (bar the one there playing this level on). |
| *The very start of the level resembles Yoshi's House from Super Mario World. | | *The music is different from any other level in the game, as this level is the only time this music is heard. |
| *In the SNES version, this level can be skipped by pausing the game and pressing snes. | | *Although not played again, the small ending bit of it appears in World 6's Extra level. |
| *In the GBA version only, if the player has completed a level in which Baby Mario is passed to a Yoshi other than Green Yoshi, then goes back to the file selection screen by pressing gba (without turning the game off) and starts a new file, the color of the Yoshi played as in this first level will be the color of the Yoshi Baby Mario was passed to instead of Green Yoshi. | | *If a player gets a Game Over on this level and chooses to end the file select screen calls this place World 0. |
| | *This level is also called World 0 if the player presses select during the level, it says World 0 at the top and below that it says the level is World 0-0. |
| | *This is the only level not to have collectibles, so if a player presses select during the level it will have dashes next to the collectibles. |
