A Yoshi and a [[Bandit]] duel with spitting watermelon seeds at one another in a [[Mini Battle|Mini Battle Game]] called [[Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest]]. Whoever spits as many watermelon seeds as possible until the other's [[Heart Point|HP]] runs out as shown on the HP bar wins the minigame.

In ''Yoshi's New Island'', partially eaten watermelons appear in [[Ukiki Jammin']] and [[Ride the Blarggwich]], while full watermelons appear exclusively in Ride the Blarggwich.
