The plot of the book consists of Wario retelling the story of how he raided the [[Golden Pyramid]] and recovered the ancient treasure while saving the legendary [[Princess Shokora]]. At the end of each page, there are multiple choices pertaining to what will happen next, and each choice is accompanied by a recommended page number. Every choice the reader makes will affect the storyline and the ending. The goal is to read through to the "real ending" and escape the pyramid with the treasure and the princess. Apart from the story, the book also features a game guide and tips for the game ''Wario Land 4''.

Gamebook reviewer Demian Katz criticized the book as "a blandly-written and incomplete summary," highlighting its lack of interactivity and focus on reaching the single true ending as weak points, and claiming that the book "does nothing to keep the reader's attention."<ref>Katz, Demian.
