Unfortunately I don't own a Wii U, let alone have a deep understanding of how it works. Regarding the actual draft I have several concerns:
*For starters, this page encourages the use of image-quality when the image doesn't comply with these standards. As I stated earlier, the image-quality template was created for one purpose, to mark poor quality images with high-priority. Using it for every image that simply doesn't follow these standards is an overshot, and will reduce its usefulness.

At this point, I'm not actually supporting the draft, the GCN and Wii resolution inconsistency problem should be tackled first, and if it is not solved. Well, there is no reason to make a law that goes around the reality. It's a worthless page. Unless it was changed to a help page instead.-- 09:04, 10 February 2016 (EST)

:*I know this Megadardery. I still remember the conversations we had here. I think I have a good idea what MarioWiki needs and how we can split up all images tagged with image-quality so that way we can put disputes around that tag to bed once and for all. If you want to know what I had in mind, I want to follow a system similar to the one found on Bulbapedia. There will be subcategories for :Category:Images to be reuploaded with higher quality. If an image is not tagged with image-quality but rather some other tag, it will not show up in :Category:Images to be reuploaded with higher quality but rather the subcategory. image-quality will still work as it always has.

:*Taking screenshots from YouTube videos only solves one of two problems. Emulator screenshots, if done right, kills two birds with one stone. Exception being pre-release videos as those can't be replicated in the final release most likely.

Shouldn't we follow TCRF's guideline that all NES screens (regardless of region) are 256×240? --Hiccup (talk) 07:16, 16 February 2016 (EST)

:I think TCRF's stricter rules on that are for making things look neater on pages. MarioWiki kind of wants to include all regions, if possible, for cultural diversity or something but I am not entirely sure. -- 15:11, 16 February 2016 (EST)

I suggest you probably need to update the page to mention that using Miiverse is no longer a viable way to upload new screenshots as of the date it got shut down. 13:14, 30 November 2017 (EST)

:Some non-Miiverse sections are out-of-date as well. I guess the next best thing is to use Nintendo's download service to download all Miiverse posts before the service is to be shut down. Only problem is the deadline passed. -- 14:45, 30 November 2017 (EST)

Recent FNCs
MKSCBattle.PNG has been moved to :File:MKSCBattle.png, with a lowercase extension. It is used on this page. Trig - 15:39, June 28, 2019 (EDT)

Kingfin Planet.png has been moved to :File:SMG Kingfin Planet Overview.png, due to a second similarly named file. It is used on your sandbox under Wii/GCN->Sample Images. Have a good day. Trig - 17:58, June 29, 2019 (EDT)

Deleted images
Some of the images are deleted and no longer show up correctly on the page. If you still edit this page, is it possible to fix this? 20:26, November 1, 2019 (EDT)

nes and snes pal vs ntsc resolution
Why are you recommending cropping the top 8 and bottom 8 lines off of NES? It's not actually a PAL/NTSC difference. NTSC consoles do render those lines. It's just that they get cropped off on most TVs. This is in contrast to most SNES games which actually do render at 256×224px.

Also, SNES can't do 256×240px, only 256×239px; this isn't a PAL/NTSC SNES hardware difference, but a different display mode of the console that, in your example, they decided to use in the later PAL revision of Mario World (initial release still used the 256×224px mode). Dragon Quest V is an example of an NTSC game using 256×239px mode. So, it's a software difference. PikaSamus (talk) 20:32, July 21, 2022 (EDT)
:Also, MelonDS is way better than desmume, which is very inaccurate. I don't know why you say not to use it. Its 3D is almost pixel perfect in the software renderer. Is it just due to not updating the page? PikaSamus (talk) 11:47, July 22, 2022 (EDT)
