Thanks for uploading the missing images, but keep in mind the parameters you need to fulfill when doing so. For the category, in this case it would be <nowiki>[[Category:Super Mario Galaxy 2 Images]]</nowiki>. {{User:Alex95/sig}} 13:34, 30 October 2017 (EDT)
:Additionally, when categorizing images, please be sure to use brackets (<code><nowiki>[[Category:WarioWare Gold Images]]</nowiki></code>) instead of curly braces, as the latter transcludes the category contents onto the page instead of actually categorizing it. Thanks! {{User:Toadette the Achiever/sig}} 18:58, 5 July 2018 (EDT)
== | == Transparency == | ||
One last thing regarding images: it's usually inadvisable to crop artwork just to make it transparent (unless, of course, the artwork's transparency is official). Is the transparency you added to your recent uploads official? If not, I'll have to revert all of them to their previous revisions. Thank you. {{User:Toadette the Achiever/sig}} 21:52, 5 July 2018 (EDT)
:Oh, ok, sorry about that, the images with backgrounds I tried to crop myself, you can revert if necessary [[User:Sdman213|SDMAN]] 21:56, 5 July 2018 (EDT)
Sorry about that, clearly I didn't check the website to see for myself. My bad. {{User:Toadette the Achiever/sig}} 00:37, 9 August 2018 (EDT)

Game titles are usually completely written out and italicized, even if it is already written in the same paragraph or infobox and seems redundant. Also, when [https://www.mariowiki.com/index.php?title=The_Claw&diff=prev&oldid=2473041 reverting edits], make sure you are not reverting valid parts of edits as well. --{{User:TheFlameChomp/sig}} 17:13, 30 July 2018 (EDT)

== Image Gallery Preview Recent Edit Activities ==
Hello, I see that we've been both trying to find common ground the past few days regarding image gallery preview section candidates for certain Mario female articles (especially the Peach, Daisy, and Rosalina ones). I believe we've finally good on the ones for the Princess Daisy gallery preview section; but can you tell me why you still want [https://www.mariowiki.com/images/1/1d/MASATLOG_Peach_art.png this picture] and [https://www.mariowiki.com/images/f/f2/Rosalina-Rio2016-NoBGround.png this picture] to remain in the gallery preview sections of the Peach and Rosalina articles respectively? Just wondering about that; please reply soon. Thanks in advance. --M. C. - [[User:MeritC|Profile]] | [[User_talk:MeritC|Talk Page]] 10:54, 8 October 2018 (EDT)
Hey, I was just trying to be consistent with other characters, such as Wario and Toad having at least 6 pictures in their preview galleries. I also feel that both of them in their gymnastic outfits show variety and their poses do show their personalities, so I feel they do have a spot in the gallery. --Sdman213 - [[User:Sdman213|Profile]] 12:08, 8 October 2018 (EDT)
: Hey, on that [https://www.mariowiki.com/index.php?title=Rosalina&diff=2526333&oldid=2526126 recent edit you did], it's not really "redundant" in this case because there weren't many promo pictures done featuring Rosalina in Mario game installments (and it's still recommended to target promo artworks of characters related to their involvement in the game installments themselves). However, I do agree that when more promo artworks of Rosalina get done for upcoming game installments (when announced by Nintendo) and when they release, the said gallery preview section for the article could use some revision for showing which pictures would best represent Rosalina for the article itself. Thanks in advance for understanding. --M. C. - [[User:MeritC|Profile]] | [[User_talk:MeritC|Talk Page]] 00:41, 12 October 2018 (EDT)
== Infobox images == | |||
It doesn't matter what's more "neutral," the rules are that the newest artwork goes inside, with the only exceptions I can think of being ones that are extremely stylized or holding an object that isn't intrinsically linked to the character. == Galleries ==
Actually, we prefer to avoid all cases of image redundancies on a page. The "all artwork" thing only applies if the gallery is on a separate page. Otherwise, infobox images should not be in the gallery. [[User:Doc von Schmeltwick|Doc von Schmeltwick]] ([[User talk:Doc von Schmeltwick|talk]]) 20:25, 19 November 2018 (EST)
:When adding images to a gallery, the entire gallery does not need to be italicized as seen [https://www.mariowiki.com/index.php?title=Cranky_Kong&diff=prev&oldid=2580929 here], as this often italicizes the sections after the gallery, not the gallery itself, and galleries should only be italicized in the names of games, which you already seem to be doing. Thanks for your understanding. {{User:Doomhiker/sig}} 14:37, 14 January 2019 (EST)

But in that case, wouldn't it have been made for the original? Anyways, if you're sure, please change all references to said image from SMW2 links and gallery to the SMA3 one. [[User:Doc von Schmeltwick|Doc von Schmeltwick]] ([[User talk:Doc von Schmeltwick|talk]]) 19:04, 9 January 2019 (EST)
Should be, since the art in Red Yoshi's gallery links to SMA3. [[User:Sdman213]] 19:05, 9 January 2019 (EST)

Given it's only seen in-game as a character select/vs. image, I'd say they are by definition sprites. [[User:Doc von Schmeltwick|Doc von Schmeltwick]] ([[User talk:Doc von Schmeltwick|talk]]) 11:37, 15 January 2019 (EST)
== "different canon" ==
There ''is'' no canon. See [[MarioWiki:Canonicity]]. == Yoshi's Story ==
The manual actually generically identifies each Yoshi in the game generically as "Yoshi" in sections like "Yoshi's mood," "Yoshi's moves," et cetera. It not being listed on the page is probably a relic from when it was assumed all "Yoshi" characters were the same individual. That's fine, I just wanted an explanation for your edits. What I generally do is mix up the gallery with screenshots, logos, and group art, as well as character artwork as I believe that's more illustrative of an article gallery than just solo character artwork. {{User:Baby Luigi/sig}} 01:06, April 14, 2019 (EDT)

:No one is "taking credit" for anything here, and this isn't a warnable offence to begin with. If there was a problem with an edit, a simple message would have sufficed, ''not'' a reminder. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 21:15, April 15, 2019 (EDT)

== Enemy counts == | |||
I see you removed the enemy counts on the [[Scary Skeleton Goonies!]] article. I understand why, but I don't want this to open up a can of worms causing this to happen with other level articles. [[World 1-1 (Super Mario Bros.)|Many]] [[World 1-1 (New Super Mario Bros. Wii)|other]] [[Jungle Hijinxs (Donkey Kong Country Returns)|articles]] do this, usually in the form of a table. :I am on the watch for this user with his 3rd reminder! {{User:HEROMARIO/sig}} 21:09, April 15, 2019 (EDT)
I will say though, you should give a reason other than simply "Unnecessary" when removing content or undoing edits next time, as I've noticed you've been doing this quite often. There was a [[MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive_51#Part_2:_What_should_be_included_in_enemies_lists.3F|proposal]] to include enemy counts, and it's useful information anyway, so I don't see how it's unnecessary at all. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 23:37, April 15, 2019 (EDT)

== Dr. Luigi/Peach/Bowser art ==
Is the source for the Dr. Luigi, Peach and Bowser artwork correct? The [https://drmario-world.com/en-US/index.html official website] doesn't appear to use these images. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 00:29, June 18, 2019 (EDT)
Oops hang on, think I forgot to correct the source, found them off twitter, I'll fix it real quick. Sdman213 00:56, June 18, 2019 (EDT)
:Thanks for that, though it looks like you upscaled them and uploaded them as png when they were originally jpg, which [[MarioWiki:Image use policy|goes against policy]]. It's possible you accidentally saved them as png after you cropped them, but keep in mind that images should be uploaded in the format they were found in (additionally, cropping is fine of course, but upscaling them is discouraged as it only makes it blurrier). {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 01:06, June 18, 2019 (EDT)
::Oh! Oops! Totally an accident, I can reupload as a jpg if need be? Sdman213 01:07, June 18, 2019 (EDT)
== RE: Peach Gallery == | |||
Looks like that image is already there. imo, the gallery preview should be a mix of things, of artwork, sprites, and maybe screenshots. It's a preview of what you can expect, not just "The Best of Peach".
As for the infoboxes, yeah, any recent artwork that is not stylized for a specific game works. There have been discussions/proposals to make exceptions, however. {{User:Alex95/sig}} 19:09, January 5, 2020 (EST)
== Shadoo and the Game & Watch ==
Hello, I've seen your reverted response. I get where you are coming from but the Mario Bros. in the said Game & Watch title weren't really in their modern proportions and ascetics yet when the game was made of course. Obviously Nintendo wouldn't really make Shadoo give Dark Mario and Dark Luigi their old Mario Bros. styled designs since they moved on from that design since they are only in the Mario Bros. styled games and made for the purpose of the art style. This is similar between trivia of [[Mr. Game & Watch#Trivia|Mr. Game & Watch]] and the Shop Keeper from ''Wario Land 4'' who she looks like Mr. Game & Watch but with actual eyes. As far as I know there isn't any other black silhouette clone of Mario and Luigi, especially these two forms in the Game & Watch styled Pit Of a 100 Trails. Peach and Bowser did not appear in the Game & Watch era, since they didn't debut until ''Super Mario Bros.''. --[[User:Gamermakerguy|Gamermakerguy]] ([[User talk:Gamermakerguy|talk]]) 01:35, January 21, 2020 (EST)
== Moving files == | |||
After moving a file, make sure any pages that still link to the old name are fixed to use the new name. The old name should then be marked for deletion. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 01:56, September 3, 2020 (EDT)
== Mount Duel == | |||
We generally do not have articles on simplistic ''Mario Party'' minigame competition modes like Mount Duel, and [[Talk:Boss Rush|there]] [[Talk:High Rollers|have]] [[Talk:Choice Challenge|already]] [[Talk:Step It Up|been]] [[Talk:Garden Battle|multiple]] [[Talk:Rocket Rascals|successful]] [[Talk:Endurance Alley|proposals]] to merge such modes. We don't need another proposal for Mount Duel. ''Mario Party'' modes only warrantly articles if they are really expansive like [[Super Duel Mode]]. {{User:7feetunder/sig}} 16:45, June 3, 2021 (EDT)

== Unofficial transparency ==
Could you explain more about [[:File:SMG Big Pokey Artwork.png]]? Both my version of the image and all existing previous revisions are unofficial transparency, as they are both derived from a trading card image from http://www.enter-play.com/products/mariogalaxy_cards_01.html. Since the blank or transparent background seems essential to its use on the wiki, I thought I would attempt to make a slightly better one, more carefully cropped and with a de-noise filter. Neither is ideal and we should hopefully try to find better SMG artworks, but I thought a bad but slightly better image would be preferable. --{{User:Supermariofan67/sig}} 18:22, June 9, 2021 (EDT)
He's right, actually, the rules explicitly state that only .jpg images are forbidden from being given unofficial transparency. As such, .png images are fair game. [[User:Doc von Schmeltwick|Doc von Schmeltwick]] ([[User talk:Doc von Schmeltwick|talk]]) 18:34, June 9, 2021 (EDT)

== Reference errors == | |||
Be careful with citation errors next time when you're removing references, like with your ''WWGIT'' edits removing the microgame descriptions and changing the characters list. After removing a "ref name" reference with a full URL, make sure to remove every other "ref name" reference with the same name (if they're also unnecessary), otherwise it leaves errors at the bottom of the page as seen [[Special:Diff/3465987#References|here]]. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 21:49, September 21, 2021 (EDT) |
