I noticed that you asked for help on the FAQ talk page XD. Here's a couple pointers that I gave another user who asked this:
#Read your welcome template
#Try editing some minor articles before moving onto the big ones
#Don't capitalize all your words
#You understand uploading images fine but to put it on a page you must type the name of the image on the page. For instance, I want a picture of [[Kirby]]. 
*I type '''<nowiki>[[Image:Kirby.jpg]]</nowiki>''' and I get [[Image:Kirby.jpg]].<br clear=all> 
*Now, isn't that a bit big? I want it smaller so I type '''<nowiki>[[Image:Kirby.jpg|100px]]</nowiki>''', now the image is [[Image:Kirby.jpg|100px]].<br clear=all> 
*OK, now, that Kirby isn't in the right place, I either want it on the right or the left so I can type '''<nowiki>[[Image:Kirby.jpg|100px|thumb|right]]</nowiki>''' or '''<nowiki>[[Image:Kirby.jpg|100px|thumb|left]]</nowiki>'''. Either way I will get a Kirby on one of the sides like this one (on the right) [[Image:Kirby.jpg|100px|thumb|right]]<br clear=all>
