== | == "Meta category" visibility ==
I | I thought it was a weird glitch on my end at first, but something peculiar I've noticed recently is that "meta categories" are no longer visible when I'm signed off. I can understand maybe hiding something like the merge and split templates from casual readers since those are really meant between editors, but I don't know why the another language and conjecture templates are hidden from view unless you are signed on. I think it's useful to have those visible at all times, especially since we tend to not cite in-game references and thus readers can easily mistake a conjectural title for an in-game name, and while it didn't stop Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia, I was optimistic that future writers will learn not to follow that example, which defeats the purpose of some of our criticism if those templates are now hidden. Additionally, not everyone browses the site signed on unless they're ready to edit, so these details can now be missed. Why was this change made, and can it be reconsidered? LinkTheLefty (talk) 23:03, September 4, 2020 (EDT)
:Thanks. The another language and conjecture templates show up for me again logged off. Are the "proposal templates" (merge to/from, split, rename, and notice) going to stay hidden? That seems like something that should have been openly discussed first, unless that's also part of the error. LinkTheLefty (talk) 15:29, September 5, 2020 (EDT)
::Why not keep at least keep the meta categories visibly listed at the bottom of the articles with or below the main categories, where they're unobtrusive to casual readers but still noticeable to other editors who are signed out? LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:10, September 6, 2020 (EDT)
:::Would a proposal to restore partial (category only) or full (entire template) visibility be vetoed by admins? I feel a change like this should have had user consensus first, and for me at least, having pages change depending on whether you're signed in or out is confusing and not very intuitive. == | == About the 3D All-Stars Reused Artwork ==
I understand that for most of these, they're just the same artwork but at a lower resolution. However, would it not be good to at least have Bee Mario art with a transparent background? I mean, we have black-BG and transparent-BG versions of the Dark Moon art for King Boo and E. Gadd. As well, a bunch of these artwork have a little bit of shadow outlining around the character, yet we still have shadowed and shadowless versions of artwork, in particular, Rosalina's art from Smash 4. I don't think all of the reused art needs to be uploaded, but I don't think that warrants dismissing all of them at once. (Unless there's some kind of Wiki policy that I haven't read.) == | == Resposta: Grammar ==
There's something weird about English
Example: :Category:Super Mario World Levels
Why isn't it Levels of Super Mario World?
Why is the word of not used in English?
Why is the word of replaced by s?
Example: | |||
Yoshi's Island | |||
Why isn't it Island of Yoshi?
I saw the word of in the name of a church, the name is:
Universal Church of the Kingdon of God
Why is of used in this case?
The word of in English balances the words de, da and do in the Portuguese language, these 3 words are always used - Yoshiman2 (talk) 15:04, September 16, 2020 (EDT)
== Know-It-All Toads? ==
Hi, just asking about which types of identifiers to use in the following situation.
So we already have an article on the singular Know-it-All Toad in Paper Mario: Color Splash, right? Here's the thing, though: there's an entire group of individuals known collectively by the same name in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. So should the individuals in Paper Jam be known as Know-It-All Toads (group)? Or should something else be put in place? 10:24, September 18, 2020 (EDT)

==Luigi Beta Voice Clips==
Hello, I see you removed my edit about Luigi’s beta voice clips that were part of the “Nintendo Gigaleak” on July 25, 2020. Are you aware about this “Nintendo Gigaleak” that happened on that date? A lot of unused content from games such as this and Mario World have been leaked in the games files? I know up keep removing this edit but I think we should put Luigi’s unused voice clips from SM64 that were leaked. Why can’t we put in on there? We already have Toadsworth’s unused voice clips for MP8 so why not Luigi’s? Please let me know ASAP Thanks

== | == MKT tier proposal ==
Is it possible now to add more options to my ongoing proposal about Mario Kart Tour tiers based on Mister Wu's findings? If yes, should the proposal's deadline be extended and by how much? 16:11, October 12, 2020 (EDT)
:It is fairly probable that users might have still voted for the first option even if those more official terms were to be presented in the proposal. From what I understand, there is no bottom tier indicator to go along with the "favoured / favourite" pair, which is frankly a little confusing in itself and mostly refers to the courses themselves anyway, not drivers or karts; the "Normal/Good/More Good" triplet (or its more grammatically correct counterpart, "Normal/Good/Better") is also flawed since "Normal" might be confused for the rarity classification of the same name. It would have been ideal to have those in the proposal since they're official, and I recognise that I should have asked Mister Wu for research first, but again, I think most users find little reason not to use the already highly-supported option. What do you think? 08:32, October 13, 2020 (EDT)

== Back Space == | |||
Hi, back again with yet another naming question. See, I intend to start a proposal to split two types of Mario Party spaces: the ones that send the player a fixed number of spaces in either direction, and the ones that require the player to roll a Dice Block in order to move in the given direction. Since both space variants that send the player backwards are known as "Back Spaces" in Mario Party 10, I'd like to know what custom identifiers to use in this case. (Note that in the case of moving forwards, the ones with a fixed number of spaces are known as "Advance Spaces" whereas the ones requiring a dice roll are known as "Dash Spaces", so there's no problem in that case.) 18:58, October 20, 2020 (EDT)

I | Hello, I was wondering if you feel defined locations for areas in Super Mario Sunshine, if connected to a mission or contain the mission, would justify their own articles? == Figure-8 Circuit in Smash ==
I want to talk to you about... well, the subject matter. First off, I can see you disagree but I think the most important thing is that it literally, outright says "Eight Cross Circuit." Also, it's translated as such on the article for the MKDS course, so leaving it as "Figure-8 Circuit" is, in my opinion, both inaccurate and inconsistent. 94.10.30.69

== Favored phrasing? (Part II) ==
Hey there! I'm in the process of adding availabilities and making the writing consistent between articles on Mario Kart Tour karts. One difficulty that I've come across is finding the least confusing way in which a kart's special skill can be explained. The in-game descriptions are too succinct (Increases [Technique] boost time and points earned for performing one.) and I think it's our job to expand a bit on the phrasing and make it clearer. Here are some phrasing options; I would like to know which one do you think is best, or if you have better alternatives:
#Boosts last longer and yield more points than usual when using this kart. -- Puts too much focus on the "boosts" rather than on the main subject (the kart).
#When this kart is used, boosts last longer and yield more points than usual. -- Better than the previous, though it still implies that the kart is unusual. Stating that the kart "increases boost duration and points" would put it on the same level as other karts with the same special skill.
#This kart increases the duration of boosts and the points earned for performing one. -- Do we get points from the duration or the boosts? I know that the former wouldn't make sense logically, but at a first glance it might be a tad too difficult to read between the lines.
#This kart increases boost time/duration and points earned for performing one. -- Not only is this a confusing rearrangement of the previous phrasing (where "one" could syntactically refer to either "time" or "boost"), but it's also a mere reflection of the in-game text.
#This kart increases boost time/duration and points. -- Bit too short innit?
09:30, November 29, 2020 (EST)
I' | :Yeah, this is good enough. I think I'll use it. Thanks! 18:21, November 30, 2020 (EST)
::One more thing. Should we say, "Jump Boost boosts"? It sounds repetitive, but it's the game's own phrasing, as if it differentiates the Jump Boost action from the actual speed boost that results from driving over ramps. 18:26, November 30, 2020 (EST)
[[ | ==Pokey== | ||
Okay, yet another naming question. So there are two types of Pokeys: the prominent kind debuting in Super Mario Bros. 2, and the not-so-prominent Needlenose varieties that have been around since Yoshi's Island. The problem is that the current title for the latter variety of Pokey is Pokey (Yoshi's Island series), which isn't a suitable identifier since both types of Pokeys appear in Yoshi's New Island (they even appear in the exact same level, Underground Pokey Patrol). Given this, what would be a more suitable identifier for the article in question? Given that the Japanese transliteration for the latter variety of Pokey is "Heading Sanbo", would Pokey (heading) work? 22:50, December 6, 2020 (EST)
