| EC: While I was making this post, I just noticed you submitted a request for account deletion, which is unfortunate. But as I said to Super Mario RPG (who wanted to quit the site after being blocked) a while back, I don't support the decision. Instead I recommend you cool off for several days, give yourself time to think through what you can do to improve, and come back with a clearer head. I don't think it helps to make such major and irreversible decisions like this so swiftly, you may end up regretting it. I won't stop you if you follow through and insist, but even if you feel this community is too stressful for you to continue, even after a week or so, then we'll reconsider (even so, I recommend just logging off or spending time in places that make you happier). Keep in mind you have made plenty of positive contributions here, it's why I'm lending you such advice, and I sincerely hope you follow. Ty, and happy trails. {{User:Mario/sig}} 21:29, December 26, 2024 (EST) | | EC: While I was making this post, I just noticed you submitted a request for account deletion, which is unfortunate. | :Thank you for this comment. Leaving this community is something I've been eyeing for... years now, I believe. As I said in my request, contributing here felt more like busywork to me. As I uploaded industrial amounts of pictures, copy-pasted info, and fixed code, I slowly realized that I'm hardly deriving passion from the project (despite obviously maintaining some commitment to it) and that it's not really something I feel inspired to do going forward. In my teenage years, finding escapism in editing the wiki was great, but those days are long over now, and I need to find new hobbies. The unhappy interactions I had only compounded the issue. Truthfully, I have other areas to grow in, and I've long consumed my opportunities here. The warning, and really just this evening's interaction, was simply the straw the broke the camel's back; my decision has been a long time coming, and even if I have spells of regret, I'll remind myself that it's the better decision. I'd give you a bucket of Warios as farewell, but my garden's all wilted. {{User:Koopa con Carne/Sig}} 21:51, December 26, 2024 (EST)

| :Thank you! Hiccups aside (we all do them), you've been an assiduous hard worker, and you've shown great responsiveness to criticism and feedback where others would have probably felt discouraged. {{User:Koopa con Carne/Sig}} 21:52, December 26, 2024 (EST), edited 21:54, December 26, 2024 (EST)

| I saw your request for account deletion, and I'll be honest, my gut reaction was like "are you ''sure''?", since it's come so quickly from your last warning, and a lot of rash decisions with big consequences can lead to great regret. But if what you just said to Mario is true, and you've been thinking about doing so for a while, then so be it, I suppose. I personally would not have the guts to request for an account deletion on any website unless I'm ''absolutely'' certain I'm ''never'' coming back. Regardless, I would still like to say goodbye. You've done pretty well on the wiki from what I've seen, so I'm certain a lot of people are gonna miss you. Take care, and good luck in your next venture. {{User:Arend/sig}} 22:08, December 26, 2024 (EST)

| I do not know where you personally feel, and I understand the desire to remove oneself from a hobby they do not enjoy as much as they used to, but you should know that your contributions to this wiki have been invaluable and you are one of the users that has been particularly responsible in shaping the way it is today. This place would not be the same without you, and it is unfortunate that you want to leave. I hope it is not because you feel like this site is not "yours" anymore, or that you are not a valued member of this community. Because regardless of how things may seem from where you are standing, you are. The kind words you have shared of [[MarioWiki:Featured articles/N4/Super Mario Galaxy|me and the work I have done]] in particular have meant a great deal to me personally. I am not sure I would have become as involved as I am without this type of encouragement from you and others. So, thank you. - [[User:Nintendo101|Nintendo101]] ([[User talk:Nintendo101|talk]]) 22:54, January 3, 2025 (EST)

| == guide to mainline subjects that still need articles ==

|
| |
| Hi, Kopa con Carne. I hope you're doing well. Over the past few weeks, I have been working to put together a large guide to subjects in the mainline series that still need articles on the wiki. It includes a brief description of each subject, an attested English name, and their Japanese name. My hope is that other users can use this as a launching point to research and make these articles themselves, and to directly copy and paste the name citations. I thought this guide may interest you, so please feel try to check it out right [https://www.marioboards.com/threads/48110/ here on Mario Boards]. - [[User:Nintendo101|Nintendo101]] ([[User talk:Nintendo101|talk]]) 04:39, January 14, 2025 (EST)

| :{{@|Nintendo101}} This is a cool and very exhaustive list! {{User:Koopa con Carne/Sig}} 07:12, January 17, 2025 (EST)

| ::Thanks! I thought it would be helpful. Some users have already expressed interest in tackling on some of these subjects when they get the chance. If there are any revisions you'd recommend to it, please let me know. - [[User:Nintendo101|Nintendo101]] ([[User talk:Nintendo101|talk]]) 14:03, January 17, 2025 (EST)

| ==Question about [[Wario's Warehouse]] and a new template==
| |
| Out of curiosity, given the fact we've preserved the actual articles for the Wario's Warehouse column themselves (as you probably recall, it was a whole ordeal to even confirm we ''did'' have everything, let alone that it was extant at all), what exactly qualifies this article for the <nowiki>{{lost}}</nowiki> template, aside from maybe just lacking the webpages as a whole? If anything, it strikes us as a bit of a ''found'' media story. (Gotta say, by the way, we're a bit surprised we didn't already have a Lost Media category; it's definitely a handy category to have!) {{User:Camwoodstock/sig}} 15:42, January 26, 2025 (EST)
| |
| :Fundamentally, what I meant the template to signal is that a given work can still be considered lost if it cannot be directly experienced and inspected, no matter how good the wiki's documentation of it is. Although Wario's Warehouse is indeed technically archived here on the wiki due to its text-based nature, there's currently no way to verify how accurate its documentation is to the source--there is apparently no archive of the web page(s) that hosted this column, not even something like a screen recording of someone scrolling through it. I'd argue that should still be pointed out through the template. Same with [[Nintendo Kids Club]] games, which are completely unplayable now, but had been documented when they were. {{User:Koopa con Carne/Sig}} 16:35, January 26, 2025 (EST)
