::I kinda dislike the "beta" name myself, but while there has been some periodic grumbling to get it changed, it hasn't gained much traction since no one's been able to provide a name that encasuplates all the info (rejected production ideas/games that switched platform or changed radically throughout development/prerelease stuff/unused content still on the media... etc) without being vague or clunky as hell to use. That, and "beta" has inadvertently a sort of shorthand for "early" stuff among a fair number of Mario fan communities. Which does what it sounds like it's doing, "GLIntercept is a program that grabs OpenGL information directly from memory." Which is as close as we can get to the game files, I checked the game files myself, it doesn't contain any file types that the hacking community has managed to open afaik.

::::More information: the game 'kinda' blends the sprite with the background, the GLIntercept captures the sprite just before it is added to the background, hence the semi-transparent pixels in this image. Look at this: the leftmost is the captured image, and the other two are the uploaded image with different backgrounds, all zoomed to 180px (original 32px). Still not satisfied? There are a few PSD viewers online, but I don't think they would allow you to edit the files. I believe the source of my music is extracted from a SMW2 ROM, just made convenient for download in a RSN file, separate from the ROM. I can't disclose where because I am not sure of the legalities and I don't remember where because I have had the files so long. I would try to perform an extraction with a specialized tool. I once did it with GBA ROMs so I could get RAW rips rather than lossy versions on YouTube or something. The tool I used to play the extracted tunes is called SNESamp, a plug-in for [[Wikipedia:Winamp|Winamp]]. That is as much as I know. It's very convoluted to follow, though, so probably not the best option, and it's pretty obvious that even if they're not technically called the same enemies from ''Donkey Kong Jr.'', they certainly are on a conceptual level.

:::3) I notice a couple more oddities on that list of sound effects. I've added <tt>SPARKY_LOOP</tt> as another source for Sparky - it should be good enough to move if it weren't already taken. <tt>SPIT</tt> and <tt>SPITFIRE</tt> seem to refer to Tane Pakkun and Katakata Kaen Heihō respectively, but they're more like actions rather than names (same with <tt>SHY_RUN</tt> and <tt>SHY_WAKE</tt> for Katakata Yarihō), so unfortunately not title material (though you can ask for a second opinion on the Talk Pages as with Ninji if you want since there have been subjects with basic names like that in the past). There is <tt>BLOCK</tt>, <tt>CRUSH</tt> and <tt>CRASH</tt> - any way to tell which one is used for Kurasshā? I also find it amusing that the Garbage Can is once again called a <tt>TRASHCAN</tt> - we ultimately settled on "Bin" exactly because of the flip-flopping. That's about all that stands out to me...maybe <tt>THROW</tt> is used by Katakata Spanner Heihō and <tt>SHWING</tt> is used by Kōmori, but it's vague and hard to tell from text alone.

:::Another ''Mario vs. Donkey Kong'' question: what is the Fire enemy referred to in ''March of the Minis'' (since they're called "Fire" in Game Boy ''Donkey Kong'' and "Fireball" in ''Mini-Land Mayhem!'')? On the topic of ''Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon'', we need Possessed Armor and Flytrap (the latter is sourced, but if you look at the Talk Page, you'll find it's actually a rather shaky description than a really solid name - maybe could check Orange Flower as well since I find it fishy it started as conjecture and now suddenly has a similar citation backing it up). #In ''Super Mario Odyssey'', what is the name of [[Pulse Beam]]? I know [[Ring Burner]] is [[Ring Beamer|RingBeamer]], so I'm curious if this one is also a Beamer derivative. I also wonder about the [[Jaxi]], given it seems strangely derived from [[Plessie#Names in other languages|Raidon]], and if there are other oddities in the game that stand out.

Also, totally unrelated, but what's a decent method for performing a text dump? Specifically, I've wanted to compare both versions of ''Super Mario RPG'', but the only Japanese text dump I'm aware of is incomplete. I'd appreciate if you can point me in the right direction. Some examples of other ''Odyssey'' oddities that may be of note would be if there is any sign of Spindrift (''Huwahuwa''/''Fuwafuwa''-''san'') since Torkdrift is supposed to be named after it (''Mechafuwafuwa-san''), or if Tropical Wiggler (''Shima Hanachan'') is using its apparent pre-release name (''Imomū''), but anything that seems to differ from the final name may be of interest. Also, if you have ''Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions'' and the filenames are usable, I might have two more things that need to be checked there. I've actually figured out on my own how to extract GameCube, DS, Wii, 3DS and Wii U files (though not Switch) with homebrew tools and view several game models, but the part I have difficulty with is uncompressing certain archives (to confirm it), so I wouldn't mind if you gave me pointers on viewing ''Super Princess Peach'' sprites (and ''Super Mario Odyssey'' models to see if Switch homebrew is worth the trouble). :I don't know about how to view SPP sprites, but you may be able to see which files are loaded for certain enemies by using Desmume's logging feature (Config>Slot 1>Retail DEBUG and then look at the CMD window). For Mario Odyssey, use Switch Toolbox for the archives/models/bymls. Please stop moving articles with different names in the game's remake to their original names, the latest name often takes priority and the same applies for remakes.
