IP and references
Hi there, please ensure to log-in to your account before you start editing. Also, why were these references removed?
08:56, August 24, 2020 (EDT)
:The reason I removed those references was because usually if a name is used in-game, it doesn’t need a reference. For the IP thing, sometimes when I have poor internet, the page refreshes and I'm logged out. Doesn’t happen always when the page refreshes. There was a big thunderstorm earlier where I live.
Grandet Omate  11:46, August 24, 2020 (EDT)
::No worries. The name is a bit more obscure than your average in-game enemy (the MKT name only shows up on the screen for a second when the player happens to destroy it), and one reference was even from a game guide. Please ensure to bring up such changes on the talk page before taking things in your own hands.

"they basically have the same behavior (charging)" That is one very general behavioural similarity. Other than that, they are completely different. The small ones attack in groups, are invincible / cannot be damaged like normal ones and cause an instant Game Over upon contact.

Audio files
We would prefer the audio files be .oga instead of .mp3, so do you think you could reupload the ImAHurricane file? 17:55, September 9, 2020 (EDT)
:Video files should be .ogv as well. But it looks like you're uploading duplicates, is something wrong? 18:56, September 9, 2020 (EDT)
::I was just trying to upload just audio, but it didn’t work out. I tried uploading ogv, but it said the files were "too big." Grandet Omate 19:04, September 9, 2020 (EDT)
::::File:ImAHurricane.oga works fine for me. 19:07, September 9, 2020 (EDT)
::::Sorry for the late response, but it just brings up “No compatible source was found for this media.” when I try to start the audio. I tried switching to desktop mode, and it still had the same issue. Grandet Omate 6:30, September 10, 2020 (EDT)
Don't upload .mp3s. Please convert them to .ogas first. They should also be a sample of 30 seconds or less, not the full song. 01:21, September 12, 2020 (EDT)
:I tried uploading ogas before, but they just didn’t play. It came up with an error message saying “No compatible source was found for this media.” Also, I’ve seen songs here WAY longer than 30 seconds (as long as several minutes). If I just use 30 seconds, most of the songs don’t make any sense. Grandet Omate 6:38, September 12, 2020 (EDT)
::They play fine, it's most likely your device. And yes, there are many other audio files on the website that should be cut down 30 seconds, but haven't all been done yet since the rule was established. If you're unable to trim the audio, tag it with media-quality, but I would suggest using a device that can play/edit ogas. Regarding the TAOSMB3 songs, if you were to just trim the parts that show the differences between song versions, maybe then it would make sense; otherwise, explaining them via text should be sufficient. 06:54, September 12, 2020 (EDT)
Undoing my edits
Why are you undoing my edits in the Super Mario Compact Disco article? 01:32, September 19, 2020 (EDT)
:There's no media. No sounds, no nothing. Grandet Omate 1:34, September 19, 2020 (EDT)
::The media is there and it plays fine from my end. 01:35, September 19, 2020 (EDT)
:::Not for me, even on desktop. Other songs on different pages play fine. Grandet Omate 1:37, September 19, 2020 (EDT)
::::Have you tried playing the file through the media file itself? Like, through File:Ambassadors of Funk - Supermario USA.ogg? The coding can get buggy at points, especially if your internet is bad. 01:39, September 19, 2020 (EDT)
OGA files
Out of curiosity, can you play any other .oga files on the wiki? A few pages that have them are Slider and Ground Theme (Super Mario Bros.) if you want to test there. -- 20:38, September 22, 2020 (EDT)
:I can play those just fine, as well as most other .oga files. It’s just several in particular that just don’t work at all. All MP3s work fine for me though. Maybe it’s because I’m on mobile? Even switching to desktop mode doesn’t fix it. Grandet Omate 20:45, September 22, 2020 (EDT)
::Hm, that's weird. Either way, I'd suggest avoiding removing .oga files from pages since you've had issues with both those and the Super Mario Compact Disco article. For future reference, if you find something broken on the wiki but it works fine for another user, then it's most likely an issue on your end rather than with the content itself and shouldn't be removed. -- 20:48, September 22, 2020 (EDT)
:::By the way, did you read this article? It might help you with your problem. 18:32, September 25, 2020 (EDT)

Page moves
Could you please provide a reason for why those pages were moved? When moving a page, you should at least fill in the "Reason" field to make clear why you're doing it, rather than simply moving a page without a word. Hey, I'm wondering what's the matter with the Melee featured article? Can you elaborate? If you feel like it doesn't meet the requirements anymore, you can always set it up for unfeaturing. 21:37, November 24, 2020 (EST)
:It was just about how none of the moves were updated from the deleted articles and were just left as redirects.
Grandet Omate 21:43, November 24, 2020 (EST)
::Ah okay. I think it has some folds and creases, but personally, I don't think it's that bad to be unfeatured. It's a pretty old, untouched article so I'd imagine some of the standards back then didn't hold up. 21:55, November 24, 2020 (EST)
Please don't remove the links to the other fighters' moves entirely, they should instead be changed so that it goes to the move's section on each fighter's page. A redirect link is more helpful to readers than no link at all. -- 22:14, November 24, 2020 (EST)
"Super Mario Bros"
Can you provide a source that "Super Mario Bros" was used to refer to all three cartoons as a whole? -- 15:35, November 28, 2020 (EST)
:A little down on this article, sorry. Grandet Omate 15:40, November 28, 2020 (EDT)
That seems like a pretty weak source to be honest, you may want to take this to a proposal before changing it across the wiki. -- 15:41, November 28, 2020 (EST)
:I'm not seeing anything that uses "Super Mario Bros." as a catch-all term that also includes Super Mario World. I am seeing it, but I'm also seeing "The Super Mario Bros." and "Mario Bros.", and not in reference to the Super Mario World cartoon. If we missed something, please point it out before you continue to make changes. "Super Mario Bros." also doesn't make sense with Super Mario World as it's not part of the title, "DIC cartoons" is more accurate regardless. 21:55, November 28, 2020 (EST)
::Yeah I also agree that your source isn't particularly strong. You should have brought it up in the article's talk pages than make these sweeping changes. 22:45, November 28, 2020 (EST)
::The Super Mario World cartoons in the main video list do use the "(Super) Mario Bros" tags, though the tagging for all three cartoons is inconsistent. 01:14, November 29, 2020 (EST)

Point of Advice
Assuming that you'll come back to this wiki after your block expires, I've got a tip for you. I've noticed you've been relying on sources outside of DiC Entertainment for information relating to the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. While WildBrain is the legal owner of DiC, it's blatantly obvious from some of their other work that they're a bunch of underpaid nine-to-five desk-workers who have no understanding of the actual media and are just throwing together titles and descriptions that would grab the attention of young children who would watch the videos, giving the company ad revenue (money is the only thing that matters in a capitalist society). I'd recommend avoiding info from WildBrain and focus directly on contemporary sources from DiC themselves (namely, the episodes which we're actually covering). I hope this is helpful. - AwdryFan1997 (talk) 13:25, December 16, 2020 (EST)
About Block!
Dear admins,
So let me explain myself. The reason I did all that was because the user was not providing enough physical evidence in wording. First, they mentioned it was on "Discord," which I read on the news was an extremely dangerous website for bad people, then he explained that it was on "MKT News page’" which does not exist (as far I searched up and have heard about). Please let me back I do not want to sound like I'm begging, but I was just doing the right thing in my position (in my honest opinion). Please respond, this is urgent, although I doubt anyone will because almost nobody ever responds to me on here. I also know that I am supposed to e-mail an admin, but my current e-mail will not let me, so this is my only choice
Grandet Omate 6:13, January 12, 2021 (EDT)
:Then the correct course of action was to ask the user for clarification, not repeatedly remove the edit and calling it out as "speculation", even after the user mentioned otherwise twice. Numerous times you've been told this. Removing something that was blatantly false would have been understandable, but doing that for something that had considerable validity to it (especially from a user who has made mostly trustworthy edits) and could have been resolved simply by asking them is not acceptable. Post a message, they let you know, and the page is left without further needless back-and-forth edit reverting. The 2nd-week spotlight drivers were featured on the tour splash screen and the trailer (also displayed on the news page, which is found in the game's menus), which has always been the case for past tours. Regarding Discord, that's an instant messaging platform; how dangerous it is all depends on the types of servers you partake in and people you choose to communicate with. That's still not a reason to remove the edit. 06:53, January 13, 2021 (EST)
::You don't understand about this. I have a mental issue which makes it really hard to talk to people not in person. And when I did ask on this wiki, most times people didn’t answer. It's like nobody cares about me on here. And when people are rude to me, others say that I'm just making that up...
Grandet Omate 12:10, January 12, 2021 (EDT)
I know everyone on here hates me, people silence me for something I think is right and don’t understand what is hard for me... s When people are rude to me, everybody says I am and everyone else is innocent... I know nobody will see this because nobody cares about me on here... Grandet Omate 1:15PM, January 12, 2021 (EDT)
:Quit self-pitying over this. Whether you have difficulty talking to others or not, that doesn't excuse the fact that edit-warring without even trying to discuss with others first is a level two offense. Sometimes when you go to discuss with people, they may be offline for quite a while, so you just need to give them time, even if it will take hours or even over a day.

I don’t know how to say this but I know people would be happy if i didn’t exist on fl here anymore. Nobody gets me not even my supposed friends in real life. I will be going away forever in real as well everyone will be happy without me even my friends. You cannot stop me it is to late. Bye, forever...

Regarding your editing experience
Hello, and welcome back! I just saw your message directly above and, since it’s quite ominous, I’m curious how you’ve been holding out these past few months.
I know that editing can become a frustrating endeavour when you feel you can’t quite get the grasp of it despite being one of the few things that bring you joy. I hope that you are able to start fresh and listen to what people here tell you. Remember, when in doubt, talk to others! Ask for advice or opinions! All it takes is a question as simple as “Is this okay?” or a variation thereof; you don’t need to start or engage in complex discussion if you’re not socially comfortable. I wish you success. 08:42, April 13, 2021 (EDT)
Some thoughts on your recent activities
I believe AwdryFan1997 had told you about this, but relying on outside sources from DiC Entertainment, such as relying on Apple TV closed captions, is not recommended. It would seem as if you are relying on companies that have little to no involvement in the creation of the Mario cartoons, and as of result including information that doesn't really make all that much sense. This include your recent edits with the Apple TV closed captions, because as Alex95 said it varies from companies to companies, in addition to the fact that they're just captions made for accessibility and not meant to replace the actual script.
I understand your commitment to assure that those Mario cartoon-related pages are up-to-date with recent sources, but you should stick with the source material and sources from DiC Entertainment themselves, rather than companies like Apple TV or WildBrain (who own the cartoons as of now) who have no involvement with the original cartoons whatsoever. Thank you, and happy editing! 13:53, April 13, 2021 (EDT)

:WildBrain has been suspected of lifting conjectural names from this wiki and using them in their synopses for Mario cartoon episodes. If we use them as a source, we risk essentially reporting our own fan-made constructs, which is not allowed. The practice that WildBrain employed here would be similar to what the English translation of the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia did, on grounds of which we have ruled it out entirely as a valid source for enemy and character names through a proposal. Since WildBrain do indeed hold a chunk of rights for the DIC Mario cartoons, we would normally greenlight information that comes from them, but given our current suspicions it's best if we run a discussion or a proposal about it first. 15:08, April 13, 2021 (EDT)
::I get being cautious about using the descriptions, but the closed captions 100% original as you cannot find the same spelling as "all-purpose, portable plumber's helper" anywhere else. Grandet Omate (talk) 15:36, April 13, 2021 (EDT)
:::It doesn't matter if they are "100% original", if it's from a source which isn't being accepted, we shouldn't use it. That's a bit like saying "some of the conjectural names on this wiki are original therefore they should be used as proper names all around the internet". 15:46, April 13, 2021 (EDT)
::::This is an official source, though. It should be accepted. This wiki is not. Grandet Omate (talk) 15:54, April 13, 2021 (EDT)
:::::I know this wiki is not official, but from what I have read in this discussion and on Alex95's talk page, the closed captions don't seem to have proper affiliation with the makers of the cartoon, which doesn't make them official either. 16:20, April 13, 2021 (EDT)
They are from the official owners of the cartoon, who bought DiC and have their assets. They are official since they own them. Grandet Omate (talk) 16:38, April 13, 2021 (EDT)
:They’re the official owners, yes, nobody is arguing that. What everyone is trying to tell you is that the information they offer relies heavily on fan-written content from Super Mario Wiki. Because of this, said information is unacceptable to quote here since that would be cytogenesis—the act of citing or reporting something from someone who took that information from you. This is not hard to grasp. 17:06, April 13, 2021 (EDT)
::They are not relying on fan written content in the closed captions. It is not hard to understand. Grandet Omate (talk) 17:08, April 13, 2021 (EDT)
:::Is there any proof of that? 17:16, April 13, 2021 (EDT)

:::Well, not all of the information they put up is unoriginal, but the fact that some information is already makes WildBrain and what have you an unreliable, unprofessional source to cite, as Glowsquid told you. The Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia also has some original concepts, but it mostly copied from us, and is currently excluded completely as a valid source as a result of general consensus. I don’t see why we should treat WildBrain any differently. Koopa con Carne 17:18, April 13, 2021 (EDT)
