:Yeah, when I heard about ''Pokémon X and Y'', I immediately thought about chromosomes too: I also hope that that particular allusion plays into the games somehow. My favourite part of genetics was learning how to solve complex puzzles using APOG (the ''Awesome Power Of Genetics''), sorta like what I did for the Koopalings, but way trickier (it ''was'' second year university, after all), with multiple genes and with the end goal being to actually map out where those genes are found on the chromosomes. So, you want to make a Writing Guideline Proposal and a new policy page for galleries ([[MarioWiki:Galleries]], I presume)? Sounds like a great idea! Your draft looks pretty good so far, although I'd suggest using <nowiki><quoteblock> for the examples, as the indented-blue-outlined-box thing can cause issues for older computers. Also, maybe keep the subsection stuff separate from the main examples, and dedicate one whole paragraph to how things like how some overall sections can be given subsections when appropriate, and how their order doesn't matter except for "misc" subsections going at the bottom. Another thing to add to the formatting is that <i></i> can be placed outside the <gallery></gallery> tags to italicize all the captions at once (obviously, this can only be done if all the text are titles: if there's other writing in there, it needs the individual, manual italicizing); similarly it might be good to emphasize the fact that <center></center> only need to go on the outsides of the <gallery></gallery></nowiki> tags, as they'll center everything, including the captions). Finally, since the examples cover the order, you don't need that last bullet: just make an overall "sections" header to group the examples and the subsections/misc paragraph, like how all the fiddly formatting has a section. - {{User:Walkazo/sig}} 19:07, 8 June 2013 (EDT)

But I think the line you have now would be perfectly fine - just don't call 'em "sub-pages", because they're technically ''not'' subpages. However, if you want to expand on the "have enough images relating to them on the wiki" bit, you could say something like "''Galleries are special pages given to subjects that are featured in enough images to warrant a dedicated, structured viewing area. If all the images can be included in the subject's main page without creating an excessively long gallery section, a separate page is unnecessary. This policy page outlines standards that must be followed when creating a gallery sub-page. ''" Either way, trying to come up with a number as the cutoff wouldn't be a good idea, as folks could try to enforce the policy to the letter, even in situations where you have lots of images but shouldn't have a gallery. (For example, if there's tonnes of screenshots, but nothing else, they can be incorporated into articles and housed in gallery sections quite easily - that's why I mentioned "structured", as it's the division into artwork/sprites/screenshots/other that really makes the galleries work.) I don't think it matters when you create the proposal. You should, however, note the changes I'm proposing in your draft, so that depends if my proposal passes. If it passes, you can simply change your draft to accommodate this. Again, it doesn't matter much. What I'm proposing isn't going to significantly alter the aim of your proposal. After all, I want to add just a few sections, which is probably a subsection in the screenshots. I don't know if there is artwork pertaining to non-game media, but again, that's a subsection. All you'll have to do is apply the changes you see fit.

It is a good idea just to wait and see the state in the proposal. If there are, say, fourteen supports and no opposes, it's a good idea to start adding sections.

[[File:WarioUtusu.png|26px]] I'm sure Luigi has appeared in a few notable commercials, but I can't think of any... one of them is the Superstar Saga one, and you can find images of it in the [[Gallery:Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga|gallery of the game]]. Luigi has also appeared in the Japanese commercial for Mario Party 3 (as part of a drape thingy).
