:Oh, yeah, Diddy Kong Racing. I was working on it, but my motivation ran low because it seems like people don't care that I'm concerned about the quality of those track articles. I hope you work hard on those articles though. It's really nice seeing you again. I really missed you. Oh, one more thing: Wario. He's out and about and there's going to be another cleansing by the defenders of Mushroom Kingdom on my talk page. 23:40, 28 August 2016 (EDT)

::(takes a deep breath)
::I was involved in emotional abuse, and I blanked out my user pages around January 27-31, which the message saying, "I'm a burden to everyone". Later, I was informed that during that time, people in IRC were scared of us, but were relieved to see us still alive. That was because at the time, my dad said really harsh and vicious things to us (i.e. "you're pathetic", "if you don't like it, get out of my house", "you're living a pathetic life", "you can't cook, drive; the only thing you do is go on the computer and play games". Anyway, to keep it short, I eventually was sobbing like crazy and I was driven to hurting myself (I used scissors to cut myself and to bleed, I scratched my arm and one side of my face until they were red and splotchy, and I shaved one of my eyebrows off) because I wanted to communicate the extreme emotional pain at the time and I thought merely sobbing was too "baby"ish. My dad doesn't really respect my feelings either way, but I think I broke everyone's hearts around here. I eventually figured out that I was in an emotionally abusive relationship with my dad and I was just denying it the entire time because my dad wasn't evil and he does genuinely love me. Right now, I'm at a therapist and I have no intentions to hurt myself any more, because I broke everyone's hearts. I think my dad was a little broken too, but he doesn't express it. Because months after this, my dad stabbed me with a fork (I mean, stabbing me, I was full out bleeding)and I started sobbing again, also while heavily shocked. Later on, Dad just removed pictures of us from his room and apologized (downplayed it by saying "poking", but part of me thinks that he's also downplaying his sadness of himself). I never told him that he just violated my boundaries, though, because I'm scared of him. I'm still afraid of him today, but my self-confidence has been marred all these years. I'm trying to regain it back, but it's hard. 22:02, 2 September 2016 (EDT)
Heh, that's true. I guess that's a silver lining from tragedies: they bring us <s>and Wario</s> closer together. I've had quite a few people I like who vanished from the wiki, so it's always pleasant to see them back and running. This world feels awfully lonely, like I'm the only Mario nerd here sometimes. 23:00, 4 September 2016 (EDT)
:All of our lists and projects are big and endless. I still have my arms full on trying to draw a commemoration for Walkazo (it's overwhelming work though), working on projects like Mario Party 6 and leaving a lot of dead projects behind like Diddy Kong Racing track articles. I'm also in college too, but I always have some time to work here when I like to. I major in 3D animation computer graphics, and I believe I made more progress than when I first started playing with them. Here is my latest render X). Unlike you, I probably have less excuse to play games compared to modeling, but at least it's related! I know I'm really busy, but I can make a render if you really, really want one (I still have one for a user called LudwigVon. Maybe I'll get started today. 23:15, 4 September 2016 (EDT)

Editing a JPEG isn't a good idea because artifacting compounds with each save. PNG doesn't exhibit this problem because editing a PNG is like editing a bitmap.
For Miiverse, keep the original format the image was submitted in (JPEG). Don't convert it to PNG as no quality gains happen and the file size gets bloated. If an experienced screenshot submitter spots a screenshot in the JPEG format, that means that at some point they will have to replace it with a clean PNG counterpart. Clean means source location with little to nothing interfering with starting quality. Most emulators render to bitmap and save to PNG directly while some still output as a bitmap only. Homebrew screenshot taking for 3DS (HANS) saves screenshots in a raw form and then has a separate tool convert them to PNG. The firmware of a 3DS has a similar process but it is behind the scenes and uses JPEG instead of PNG. -- 17:43, 1 September 2016 (EDT)

Why it is important to do BMP to PNG instead of BMP to JPEG to PNG is that the compression is less with the ladder. Also, it is more fair to those with slow or metered connections. For example, I know :File:SM3DL Tapped Icon.png can be less in file size because the background elements are very redundant if the PNG compressor had access to the BMP instead of the JPEG. That image even has an archived version of a very bad case scenario of the file showing the consequences of JPEG converted to PNG. The PNG compressor sees very subtle grain that JPEG produces instead of a flat solid color we perceive. -- 17:43, 1 September 2016 (EDT)
:JPEG and PNG are compression formats that achieve compression in wildly different ways. Bitmaps are uncompressed. Recap:
:*Just don't convert JPEG to PNG (file size bloat). Converting from BMP to one of the two compression formats are OK but PNG is desirable in this situation for its quality-retaining feature and is the most straight forward to work with.
:*Emulators are a great source for PNGs. Don't use JPEG.
:*3DS homebrew overrides default BMP to JPEG so that way BMP to PNG is possible. Wii U is homebrew ready but not as advanced as 3DS homebrew, as no BMP to PNG method exists. Just live with JPEGs for now.
:Hope this serves as a good tl;dr. :P It is possible to get 1280x720 JPEGs from the Wii U as you play games. Just open the built-in web browser and upload to MarioWiki as you normally would if you were on a computer. That's how I got :File:SM3DWBaddieBox.jpg. -- 18:37, 1 September 2016 (EDT)

Elder Princess Shroob Sprite
I know this was like 6 years ago, and you probably don't remember by now, but could you tell me where you found that Elder Princess Shroob Sprite? If not, I understand. --Green Mario (talk) 21:41, 16 November 2016 (EST)

Hey. You probably remember the debate regarding Expresso from DKC2. I made a new TPP, and I would like you to check it out here. Thanks.

Favor
Can you upload the sprites from DK: King of Swing by any chance? Specifically the playable characters.
:Yes I uploaded some from there but the background for some of them are purple and they are too big.
::Yeah and can you please try reuploading the enemies that I uploaded. You might as well if you can resize them. Thanks.
:::These pictures are the ones that need resizing. I didn't put them on any gallery because the quality isn't top notch. File:DKKOSClickClack.jpg, File:DKKOSLockjaw.Jpeg, File:DKKOSNeek.jpg, File:DKKOSShuri.jpg, File:FlipFlapDKKOS.jpeg, File:FlitterDKKOS.jpeg, File:KritterDKKOS.jpeg, File:MiniNeckyDKKOS.jpeg, and File:ZingerDKKOS.jpeg. I got them all from that same website you got the bosses from.
::::Wow thanks a lot that's perfect.
