So I'm sure curious too. I tried seeing if there'd be any feedback to https://www.mariowiki.com/Template_talk:Minigame_infobox#I_want_confirmation_that_the_.7Ccontrols.3D_value_is_still_in_use that I posted a couple days ago, but there was no feedback in that thread at the time of writing. | :::Okay, that is technically an example, but it was ''11'' years ago. Things have a tendency to change in 11 years. From what I can currently tell, the moves to separate sections was done seemingly unilaterally by [[User:RAP]] in 2013, and while RAP appeared to be an admin at the time (but hasn't been for at least 5 years by now), there seems to be no mention on any of his user talk pages that any actual decisions were made before he made all those moves on his own. | | |
| Anything that uses a colour input can be [https://htmlcolorcodes.com/ any hex colour code you want] (<code><nowiki>{{color|#6e38ff|Mario}}</nowiki></code> --> {{color|#6e38ff|Mario}}). You can also use HTML names (<code><nowiki>{{color|dodgerblue|Mario}}</nowiki></code> --> {{color|dodgerblue|Mario}}), listed {{wp|Web_colors#Extended_colors|here}}. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 21:48, October 11, 2024 (EDT)

| Hey, I'm sorry about that. I misread the edit and thought the opening paragraph for the swing article was changed to be more similar to something more passive like [[Wire|this]]. I was clearly mistaken - your edit was fine. Again, sorry. I did not get a lot of sleep last night. - [[User:Nintendo101|Nintendo101]] ([[User talk:Nintendo101|talk]]) 15:34, October 17, 2024 (EDT)

| == Referring to Yoshi in game writing. ==
| |
| | |
| Hi! Uh so we're both doing Yoshi platformer game writing. Which means dealing with the Yoshi identity issue head on when referring to the playable characters. I'm using Yoshi with singular "they" pronouns, you think it should be written as "A Yoshi" with an article. I think my method is the best way to tackle it. Neither method is fully compliant with the digital instruction manual, it gleefully chooses "he" as in "Yarn balls will follow along behind Yoshi wherever he goes," "Yoshi will occasionally acquire these on his adventure," and "Yoshi gains the ability to fly and receives help from the Poochy Pups in this mode, making his adventure easier". I think your method calls more attention to this topic than Yoshi's Woolly World intends to address it, and so I would rather the wiki pick the more subdued approach of using singular "they" with regards to this game or copy the game and use "he". | == RE: Ukiki ==
| |
| | |
| Hard to say since that seems to be the only official way of referring to them (that I know of) but it also likely could have been a simple "You got a [orb name here] Capsule!" expression and an oversight. Most of the writing on the wiki seems to treat it as "oo-kiki" since it's closest to the original Japanese pronunciation. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 05:59, January 12, 2025 (EST)
