Hey, sorry for bothering you, I saw you have 'Merge Bat (Mario Kart 64) and Bat (Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon) into a generic "Bat (species)" article' in your "current goals", and I just wanted to say that I don't think that's a good idea. The LM2 and LM3 pests do look pretty generic, and they're referred to accordingly by English sources, but, you see those [citation needed] names in the NioL sections? Turns out the ones for the crow (which I intend to split eventually) and spider are used in game, so I believe the others are probably correct as well, possibly from some Japanese guide. I guess what I'm saying is, there's reason to believe they're supposed to be unique, albeit generic looking, recurring enemies. been awhile since I've played the game, and since I've put that there, but that is exactly how it happened. done it once or twice, when the state of the plaza with the plants show up I was trying to do all of Bianco Hills, and when I got my next shine and returned to the plaza, the next plaza state was up with the boathouse resurfaced with the portal active, and the same thing happened to the lighthouse when it's event came around. If I recall this was on the original Gamecube version as well. Not sure if it has to be an uncollected shine, or one already obtained will suffice. But that is how it happened, I know for a fact I did not fight those Pirhana plants. Howdy! The only course table on the ''Mario Kart Wii'' article that comfortably scales to my phone are the battle stages. The Retro courses do not fit perfectly, and they slide a bit when I try to scroll through them. They also look awkward on desktop. :They're the background layer, so that is indeed intentional (GB doesn't have transparent background), and they are stored as different graphics in the data (unlike how left-right sprites usually are), as well as different from the transparent sprite layer ones. Something I noticed recently I thought you would be interested. In the original TTYD, this item is called "Goldbob Guide" and the description says it's a manual for the cannon. However, it's name in other languages including Japanese is "Usage Permit", which even carries over to the English localisation of the remake calling it a "written permission" instead of a manual in the description. :I've been thinking about that in regards to subjects like [[Autobomb]], since I noticed its NES sprite resembles Bowser's flame (more than its SNES one, which iirc just uses the Birdo/Tryclyde/Fryguy fire). I've been considering, perhaps, we should make a separate article for stationary "flame" obstacles (like the falling ones in SMW and NSMBU, the torches in SM64, and other assorted things) and having "fire (projectile)" encompass those other ones (including Bowser's) - especially the Piranha Statue, since it's the named enemy in that case, simply named "fire" it may be. I also think that much of what is currently on [[Fireball (obstacle)]] should be merged between the standard fireball (the swirling/spherical kind that generally bounces around, like Fire Mario shoots), the forward projectile, and the stationary/falling obstacle. The main purpose of the "absent" ones is so you can tell "oh, that's the first mission and that's the third mission, but not the second mission" easily, and it doesn't have to deal with line breaks. I think a bullet list is preferable for less... multidimensional appearance lists, but this one needs a bit more formatting than that. ::That's fair, I'll give you that yours is easier to work with at a glance. My goal there was to make it clearer to readers what's going on. For someone who is unfamiliar with the game (or maybe it's been so long that they forgot some details) just seeing that an enemy is in missions 1 and 3 isn't as helpful as knowing what those missions actually are, IMO. Better to have that information directly on the page than make people hover/click on the stars to find out as it's less steps for the reader to figure out what's going on. It takes a little more time to process, but also we're a wiki and I don't think having to read a little hurt anyone. So I think our philosophies there on what's important for presentation on an article just differ.

Our staff has deliberated on how to deal with this long-term behavior, but I am compelled to act upon this. Out of respect for you, I will not be linking many diffs and I will try to be brief as possible, but you should be aware. Your overall conduct regarding communication and cooperation with other users needs much more improvement. Often times, when you're arguing with people, you're being very overbearing, arguing over multiple editors who revert your edits, advancing positions too aggressively and too persistently in spite of most editors disagreeing with your approach, relying on semantic arguments so strongly that others would interpret as pedantry, and not cooperating besides the most basic action of avoiding edit wars and starting a talk page discussion. This is particularly true when disagreements revolve around fundamental philosophy on what a wiki should be doing with game assets it has (for example you believe a wiki should try to be as close to game assets as possible to remove the strings attached and show the inner workings of a game; other users believe in a presentable, maintenance-easy approach such as galleries having sprites that are viewable or have much less emphasis on a sprite is presented due to believing it's not an important detail), but it's much pronounced when your philosophy is at odds with most editors. As a result, we've had ''several'' users come to us complaining how difficult you are to approach, which tells me something has to be done here.

For instance the end of your own userpage has a disclaimer from you that you will continue pushing your points as people disagree with you and that you will reject people that strongly voice opposition on a suggest without even qualifying the claim; this is a debate philosophy we've seen play out that several users have complained about. Now, you say what you want in that userpage but I think it's ill-advised to set such a strong argumentative impression others will get from you and you need something more thoughtful and welcoming, try to be considerate ''why'' someone would think otherwise. Ergo, assume good faith.

Instead of this persistent behavior that is making people reluctant to voice disagreement with you, ''including when opposing your proposals'', when people revert your edits and explain that you are wrong, you need to listen to people, read carefully what they're saying, address their complaints, communicate understanding of people's positions, and most importantly make concessions about some of your decisions here especially when multiple people are involved. I hope you take this advice to heart: if you're on a losing proposal, sometimes it's best just call it a game and let it go. Let people have the last word, and let the chips fall.

Now, your edits have been overall great quality such as your work on overlooked articles such as [[Famicom Grand Prix II: 3D Hot Rally]] and [[Mario's Tennis]] including your impeccable effort at uploading much needed assets from these games; or the addition of options the wiki can use to manage the sprite display on a gallery; or the plentiful proposals you have successfully persuaded people to vote alongside you; which is why we're reluctant to hand out these measures to you. While I understand that this behavior cannot be changed overnight, I do think acknowledgement what is going on is a first step toward trying to be more cooperative. Please don't take this message to mean anything personal to your worth as an editor. Instead, do focus on the fact you're capable of improvement and we have expectations from you that you will. Hi, Doc. I assume you saw Ray Trace and me delete the White Block sprites you uploaded. Just for posterity, we did this because multiple users checked recent uploads are were immediately overstimulated with flashing lights and this can cause seizures or epilepsy in some people. My eyes currently hurt from combing through those. I understand we have no policy for this on the books at the moment, and you probably did not consider the impacts of that, but going forward, if you or anyone else is uploading an animated sprite of rapidly changing colors, please deviate from what is done in-game by slowing it down to ensure we are not hurting our visitors or causing any sort of epileptic episodes. I hope that is understandable. Please do not upload every single sprite variant of a rapidly color-changing subject for ''Super Mario Bros. 3'' or any other game, and if there are legitimately fully distinct animated sprites of changing colors, they should not be uploaded one after another. I hope that is understandable.

Additionally, while this was surely an Herculean effort and you have uploaded some cool stuff, I wanted to let you know that multiple users have relayed that they feel the amount of sprites on the ''Super Mario Bros. 3'' gallery have become really gratuitous. Many folks do not think we need the variant of every single subject in every single scenario. :The main reason for the variants thing for enemies and such is for the enemy tables in stage articles, actually, moreso than the game gallery - I just want to gather them all there before I disseminate them out so as to not need to make multiple sweeps. Also, for a more thorough list of differences for the remake pages. I guess this cuts down the work I need to do, lol, there are precisely 271 possible invincible Mario/Luigi flashes counting all power-up combinations and the map sprites in addition to the stage palette variations; this will bump that down to a much simpler 24. Regarding the blocks, three of them were used on a notes point on the White Block page, so that will need dealt with. I suppose the simplest thing is to keep the one that was already there (ie, the one with a different naming structure). I had considered drafting a new feature allowing tagged images to be activated from one's view (non-visible by default) to avoid any complications with flashing images, but I'm not sure if that can be implemented. I actually do take seizure risk very seriously, which is why I shrunk down those images in particular on the gallery - but I hadn't realized people check the "new files" page for any reason other than collecting their own images, so I apologize for that. My brother has epilepsy and that's led to some scary moments for us both. (On a more amusing note, I was born on the exact day of the Pokémon Shock incident.) ::In all my honesty, I'd still push for slowing down the flashing frames on these color-changing sprite GIFs. Assuming your feature about tagged flashing images comes to life, I can't imagine if that's gonna be really useful, because if it works similarly to collapsible tables, users might click on it and get flashed with sensitive flashing imagery, assuming those are unchanged. Mario Wiki aims for accuracy, but in some situations like these, I think that's where we need to deviate a bit.<br><br>Additionally, my other concern on the excess sprite images in the gallery is potential loading times (even if these images are small), especially for mobile data users. I could not imagine myself wasting data over seeing several variants of colored water from a world map, and it's honestly a little bit of a pain to scroll through. I had an idea though, of cutting down those images in the Gallery, then moving their variants to respective world and level articles that make use of those palettes, especially for enemy tables.
