But, since they already have articles (and I did split the two that were needing to be split (do note that I did leave the other parts on the articles that were split for you to do)) and there are only ten, it shouldn't take long to do. So, do you want me to work on London Party. Also, I feel like there's a place online where people can find out what characters have for events. But, I don't remember where. Whatever it is, it would be beneficial (even if it just helps me find the events), but not necessary. 22:00, 18 October 2018 (EDT)

| :::::::By the way, for Dream Long Jump, Dream Equestrian, and Dream Sprint, how should I do these? I am asking because unlike other minigames that are either short or doing the same thing over and over again, these are like courses (where the definition includes levels). Maybe I could work Dream Equestrian into the gameplay section, but the other two aren't as easy. Basically, Dream Equestrian has various things done throughout the level where it would make sense for it to be in the gameplay section. The other two, however, can't be done that way since their gameplay is completely separate from the layouts. And all three of those are not randomized, so they are indeed what one would see if they play the game. Any ideas? 17:08, 20 November 2018 (EST)

| == Hey everybody! Fun Stuff reminder ==
| |
|
| |
| Hey! Sorry for such a late message to all of you, I've been a little bit caught up in the sea of everything going on. I'm sure a couple of you know how that feels.
| |
|
| |
| In any case, hi, I'm Roserade, and I'm going to be your Fun Stuff Director moving forward! I'm really excited to be working with all of you, and I hope you feel the same. In case you're wondering about my history with the 'Shroom, I actually first wrote for it when I was ten... For better or for worse. Thankfully, I only wrote for two issues before disappearing off the forums, so at least it was a merciful run. Otherwise, I'm very happy to be able to help and give back to a community and newsletter that mean a lot to me.
| |
|
| |
| When you submit your section to me next, if you could please include the following information:
| |
|
| |
| -If you would prefer reminders through the Boards, the Wiki, Discord, or any combination of the three (please only send your section to me through the Boards, though)
| |
|
| |
| -If you're currently on a monthly or bimonthly schedule
| |
|
| |
| This message will be sent over the Boards and the Wiki until I clarify which method you're most comfortable with.
| |
|
| |
| In any case, submissions are formally due Saturday, October 13th, but because of my late message, I'm instead going to say to please get your submissions in by <b>Tuesday, October 16th</b>. This'll give you about five days to finish, so hopefully that's enough time. If you can't get it in, please let me know and we can work something out.
| |
|
| |
| Thank you for reading this, and thank you again for writing! I hope you're as excited as I am, and we can get this ball rolling. (Also sorry about lack of a fancy format, I'm working on it!)

| Hello, regarding this edit, I apologize for making it sound like aboutfiles were necessary, as that was what I thought, as the fact that people get warnings for incorrectly using aboutfiles made it sound like they where required in the sentence If you continue using aboutfile incorrectly, then a warning will be issued that is stated in the aboutfile reminder, even if the reminder is only for if you use and incorrectly use the template. | |
| While there is no rule about using about templates on pages with identifiers, it is not really needed as if a reader were to say type Rhythmic Gymnastics they would see the pages with identifiers in the search bar, so it would nearly be a guarantee that they will go to the page that they want to go to (And if they entered Rhythmic Gymnastics they would go to the disambiguation page anyways). 18:27, May 22, 2019 (EDT)

| Hello. You probably don't know me, but I'm Lord Falafel and I've been archiving lots of obscure content on the super Mario wiki and my work is getting close to done. I have been modifying lots of pages like the list of games, the list of television series and films, the list of publications and the list of merchandise. If you want to check out what I've found, please do. I currently have toadette the archiver and bloober helping me out with finding some obscure stuff by Banpresto. | ==Re: Sponsors rewrite tags==
| |
| What I mean by speculation is that by the logo alone the pages speculate on what the sponsor does, even though there's no actual confirmation. Yes, sometimes it's obvious, but as we have no concrete proof of what the sponsor does we shouldn't speculate on it. For each sponsor we should only describe what thier logo(s) looks like, where the logo can be found, and what games it appears in in the general sponsor page. As for redundancy, a lot of sponsors not only speculate but redundantly speculate i:e "this character likely owns this sponsor" when the character's face is directly on the logo. Mind you, information on who own what brand can also be speculation, but speculating on that is also being redundant. He is an example of a sponsor and how it could be fixed:
| |
|
| |
| Boomerang Bros. International Airlines (often abbreviated to BBIA) is an airline that appears as a sponsor in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and makes a cameo appearance in Super Mario Odyssey. It runs flights to some of the courses from the game, so presumably transports the racers to these locations for the races. It appears to be run by Boomerang Bros. The logo consists of the name or initials in a navy blue sans-serif font, with the first "I" in "International" being replaced with a red-striped blue Boomerang. A different logo has the abbreviation "BBIA" on the left with a red shape on the left hand side, while another different logo is simply the abbreviation on a gray background. It is advertised by means of posters, patches and trackside banners, appears on planes and departures boards, and is referenced on a map.
| |
|
| |
| The problems here are in bold. It speculates on the airplanes transporting racers, and on Boomerang Bros. owning the company, when it really could just be a simple name. I hope I make sense. 09:18, October 6, 2019 (EDT)
| |
| :The redundacy thing isn't really something to worry about that much given that any examples of redundacy on the sponsor pages are example of speculation as well and thus should be removed regardless. For example, I removed the sentence on the sponsor page for Mario Kart DS: "The sponsor's purpose is not entirely clear but its name suggests it relates to Luigi". Of course, it still is speculation, but that comment about it likely relating to Luigi is even a bit redundant given that Luigi is in the sponsor's name, so while we shouldn't still state who owns which sponsor given it being speculation, it is also redundant due to being something that a reader would likely think regardless. 17:10, October 8, 2019 (EDT)

| == Question about a new page: secret passages ==
| |
|
| |
| Hi! Recently, I have been looking through the wiki and the Super Mario Encyclopedia to see what the wiki did forgot to cover. And well, I did not find anything except for the secret passage, or secret alcove. These are the "layer 0" walls that you can walk through in most New Super Mario Bros. game. I know these are not concretely something like a character or an item, adn that they are sometimes being mentioned in the level page (for example, World 1-1 (New Super Mario Bros. Wii)), but considering that they are mentioned in the Super Mario Encyclopedia in the category Objects and mechanisms, I am asking myself if a page about those secret alcove/passage could/should be written.

| I used to like the Mario series as an 8 year old back in 2012, but now the only reason why I revisit it is because of the music. When I saw that username (Joeypmario), I thought that the account in question might have been my attempt to edit this wiki so long ago that I can't even remember. My interests have fluctuated a lot over the years (from Mario to PBS Kids shows to Danny Phantom; Daniel William "Danny" Wilson and Daniel William "Danny" Fenton/Phantom are pseudonyms I use, but astronomy is one of the few that has remained constant). However, today I went through the account's contributions and saw that it's been operating since 2011, yet I've only been interested in the Mario series since mid to late 2012. I certainly almost don't remember editing this wiki in 2014, yet something tells me I'm involved with that account. If someone has CheckUser abilities, then could one go over the account (and mine) and spot a connection? And if that account is mine, then could you please close it? (I don't want to be associated much with Mario due to my current interests.)

| == Paper Mario Weapon Pages ==
| |
|
| |
| Hi, I wanted to check with you before trying to make pages for items appearing in Paper Mario: Sticker Star and its sequels, since you deleted a few not too long ago ("Unnecessary redirect/disambiguation page"). Currently, Hurlhammer is one of the top Wanted Pages. How would you feel about giving every major weapon family its own page (Line Jump, Hurlhammer, etc.), but placing information about its variants (Shiny, Flashy, x3, etc.) within the weapon page, rather than unnecessarily dedicating a page to each variant? 06:19, June 26, 2021 (EDT)

| == Spinning at the olympics ==
| |
|
| |
| Hello! I have an inquiry: does the Spin move that specifically originates from Super Mario Galaxy appear in any capacity in the Mario & Sonic games, whether functional or aesthetic? To describe it in case you're unfamiliar with this game mechanic, it is recognisable by the blue, sparkly trail that it leaves around the playable character and is typically used to attack enemies or acquire some extra height while in mid-air. This question is related to one of my edits on the Spin article, in which I removed a paragraph describing Mario spinning in certain Mario & Sonic games; my limited research revealed that it's just a generic figure-skating animation rather than a form of attack or explicit reference to the Galaxy Spin, and I would like a confirmation of this from someone more knowledgeable on the matter. 18:07, August 17, 2021 (EDT)

| ::I’ve set up a proposal on the relevancy of some of those Mario & Sonic spinnies to the Spin article. You might fancy casting a vote :) 20:13, August 20, 2021 (EDT)
| |
| :::I have no clue as to how I managed to brush over your 26 August reply given that I was quite active here lately. Please accept my apologies.
| |
| :::The proposal harboured the premise that Luigi's and Amy's spins are most definitely not nods to Super Mario Galaxy, given that the colour of their spinning blurs is not blue, unlike Mario's. They were only brought up to single Mario's spinning animation as a potential reference; still, it's all but confirmed they're derivatives of Mario's animation, so they ought to have a mention on the Spin article all the same.
| |
| :::You bring up a good point: it's likely the developers recycled the spinning animation seen in 2010 Vancouver, unquestionably our Galaxy Spin move, for 2012 Londons 4x100m Relay, in the context that most other characters perform signature, game-referencing moves in said event. Honestly, this is the type of discussion I hoped the proposal would spark, but I think the current arrangement is more than fine as it is. 08:39, September 5, 2021 (EDT)

| == Yoshi the Koopa ==
| |
|
| |
| A developer comment from the 25th anniversary booklet enclosed with the Wii version of SMAS says "Yoshi was originally intended to be a type of Koopa. The saddle was supposed to be a shell." Mister Wu has found a whole bunch of more recent instances of him being identified as a shelled turtle, indicating their stance has shifted back. You can ask him for more details. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 14:12, September 19, 2021 (EDT)

| I'm not BBQ Turtle, and I'm unsure if I'm allowed to respond, but I thought it was always confirmed the thing on his back was a shell. Only in the SM64 days was it called a saddle. I've also heard of Yoshi's full name being "Yoshi Munchakoopa", which really confirms it out loud. Hope this helps. 20:05, October 23, 2021 (EDT)

| Hi BBQ Turtle! Sorry to bother you, but you're the only Staff Member on the wiki as of typing this. Is it okay if you delete File:MLPFIM Trixie.jpg and SMRPG Golden Belome statue.jpg? The first one is a personal image that I accidentally uploaded in JPG format instead of PNG, so I need that deleted so I can upload the PNG version. The second one is basically a duplicate image. Thanks in advance! November 26, 2023, 16:29 (EDT)

| == Templates ==
| |
|
| |
| Since you liked my Mario & Sonic missions table, do I have your permission to create a few more Mario & Sonic table templates, if there's a consistent structure with the data? One example would be for staff ghost data in the DS version of Olympic Winter Games, like Luge and Alpine Skiing GS. Another would be for story mode challenges in the 3DS version of London 2012, like Junior Hits England. | |
| :Does this template help too? (For example, check Deluxe Halfpipe). I found a consistency between the in-game controls text for Winter Games events, and hopefully this will help eliminate all that empty spacing issue to the side, since i didn't like reading it vertically.
