While the "appearance" entry in the page's infobox shouldn't be changed until the new game is released, you were actually right about adding the text: according to [[MarioWiki:Upcoming_Content#Previously_existing_articles_in_upcoming_projects|our policies]], sections for upcoming appearances are perfectly fine (although it is ideal if the sections are labeled with {{tem|Newsubject-section}} and are backed-up by references).
