'''Trophies''' ({{ruby|フィギュア|Figyua}}, ''Figure'') are collectible items throughout the ''[[Super Smash Bros. (series)|Super Smash Bros.]]'' series. Each one is a three-dimensional model of a character or item, either of a ''Super Smash Bros.'' concept or a concept from one of the series in ''Super Smash Bros.'', on top of a shiny yellow base with a design of the ''Super Smash Bros.'' logo. As such, many are based on the [[Super Mario (franchise)|''Super Mario'' franchise]]. Trophies can be rotated to view them from most directions. Each trophy also has a description of the concept it depicts. They first appear in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'', replacing the doll concept of the first ''[[Super Smash Bros.]]'', and return in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS]]'' / ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Wii U|Wii U]]''.

 

The model for a trophy, if the concept is not used elsewhere in a specific ''Super Smash Bros.'' game, is often taken directly from a existing three-dimensional model from one of the games that concept appeared in.<ref name=iwata>{{cite|quote=Right. The development for Smash Bros. Melee began soon after the GameCube was released and we had to design each character from scratch. This time, however, we were able to borrow characters from various development teams, which was a big help. Take The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess from the Zelda series for example. Note that ''Super Smash Bros. Melee'', as it was developed very soon from the release of the [[Nintendo GameCube]] and software for many other franchises was not complete, has mostly original models for its trophies.<ref name=iwata/> Trophies of concepts from games known for being presented with two-dimensional visuals even when released in time periods where games use three-dimensional visuals that do not already have models in the specific ''Super Smash Bros.'' game instead depict the concept as a flat texture on a plane. One series this applies to is the {{a|WWSERIES|l}} series. Such trophies can still be rotated, and their backside usually has an alternate pose. While the {{a|PMSERIES|l}} series uses three-dimensional models, most of the characters of that series are depicted on flat planes, and therefore this applies to most trophies depicting characters based on that series.

The games have various methods of collecting trophies. Common trophies can be collected by finding them in single-player campaigns, in a bonus stage of Classic mode, by getting them in the {{iw|smashwiki|Lottery}} in ''Super Smash Bros. Melee'', from {{iw|smashwiki|Coin Launcher}} in ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl'', and by playing {{iw|smashwiki|Trophy Rush}} and {{iw|smashwiki|Target Blast}} as well as buying them in the {{iw|smashwiki|Trophy Shop}} with coins in ''Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS'' / ''Wii U''. Some trophies can only be unlocked by completing certain {{iw|smashwiki|event match}}es. Trophies of the fighters can be unlocked by completing Classic, Adventure, or All-Star mode. A collected trophy can be viewed in either the Trophy Gallery, where players can closely observe a trophy and view its description, or the {{iw|smashwiki|Collection|Trophy Hoard}}, where every collected trophy is displayed together. The Photo Booth feature of ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl'' and ''Super Smash Bros. for Wii U'' allows players to take photos of their trophies.

Melee|trophies]], three of which go unused in {{wp|Western world|Western}} releases. ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' has a [[List of trophies in Super Smash Bros. Brawl|total]] of 544 trophies.
