The level begins with a [[Warp Pipe]] leading to a shaft with a [[segmented platform]]. [[Mario]] must keep going down while avoiding the [[volcanic debris]] coming his way. After the [[Checkpoint Flag]], Mario must go up a second shaft while avoiding more volcanic debris, as well as hitting a few [[POW Block]]s along the way with either a [[Super Leaf]] or a [[Gold Flower]]. The path eventually leads directly to the [[Goal Pole]].
