Of course, we do not expect you to simply take our word that we are the right choices to trust with The 'Shroom in 2020. Please, allow us to lay out our case for why we feel we can lead the paper through the upcoming year and to explain our plans in detail. We'll begin with a brief discussion of why be believe we are qualified to lead this project, move on to our tentative schedule for next year's term, and end with additional plans and areas of emphasis we have in mind.

Hello, I'm Hooded Pitohui, current Strategy Wing Director, though you may also know me as the fellow who has rambled on too much about poisonous birds, birds that are facultative hemophages, and birds that may purposefully set fire to an area. I've been around the community in earnest since 2017, and I have used that time to get involved in a number of community projects.

With the experience I've gained and the time I've spent working with other members of The 'Shroom staff and other prominent members of this community, I feel confident that I can successfully lead The 'Shroom through the 2020 term. Of course, I will not be doing so alone, and I am thankful to have a partner I know I can work so well with professionally and who complements me with his personality and focuses. I will let Roserade introduce himself and speak to his qualifications on his own, though. I will say, however, that through our work with Awards KG III, we have been able to develop a working relationship that has allowed us to effectively organize and lead large-scale projects together.

Roserade

Greetings, beautiful readers! My name is Rose, and I'm here to formally introduce myself and my qualifications as I run for the Sub-Director position. You may know my interests to be activities such as writing poetry or studying tarot, but another big interest for me is this community. I first joined the Mario Boards when I was nine — eight years ago now! — and while I took a long hiatus somewhere in the middle, this community and the people I engaged with were endearing enough for me to return. I've been back on the forums in full activity since 2016, and I've loved every minute of it. Being able to contribute to the happenings and large events of this community really speaks to me, and I hope that Pitohui and I can continue to bolster The 'Shroom as a fantastic monument to our community.

Miscellaneous Policies and Plans

We've explained our most important plans in detail in our proposed schedule, but there are a few more goals we have in our quest to increase engagement with The 'Shroom. We'd like to elaborate on a few of the things we would most like to do in this term.

*Finally, we want to consider and explore opportunities for writers and readers to have direct interactions with one another, and bring at least one of these opportunities to fruition. We want to ensure The 'Shroom fosters a sense of community, and, just as Awards tournaments and forum games do, we want The 'Shroom to connect people who may otherwise never speak to one another and to launch new conversations. In the past, 'Shroom-affiliated games like Mafia or the Killing Game have been a tool for getting writers and readers alike talking to one another, and, even further back in the past (as one can see in issue LVII, issue LXXXI, and issue LXIX), chat parties and staggered uploads of special issues served a similar goal. While a staggered release might not work as well today, we would like to see The 'Shroom host an event of some form which will give its writers and readers a chance to talk, get to know each other, and perhaps form friendships they otherwise would not. We want to get people talking to each other, even if that starts only by talking about their sections.

With that, we've made our case for the direction we think The 'Shroom should take in 2020 and why we feel we can successfully guide it in that direction. We are, of course, happy to answer questions, elaborate on anything we've discussed here, and interested in hearing what you have to say. It's the community that makes this project possible, and we want to hear from those of you who have a stake in this project. If you have concerns, proposals, or ideas you think we should hear, reach out to us!

#Superchao As the outgoing director, I throw my full support behind Pitohui and Roserade. I am confident they'd be the best choice possible to lead the 'Shroom in the year to come, and I can't wait to see how well they do it!

#Smg2daisy I am not the best person to judge their qualifications for this position as I am not experienced on writing and managing The 'shroom, but as a KG3 player, they were amazing hosts who keep the entire game in control and maintain the quality of the game for everyone's experience. I do like to read interviews and some fun stories, so I'd vote for Pitohui & Roserade. I want good monthly issues.

#LudwigVon I give my support to both Hooded Pitohui and Roserade. The two have repeatedly demonstrated over the year that they are more than capable of taking the lead of The 'Shroom in 2020. As the Poll Committee Chairperson, Roserade had on some occasions, the opportunity to take over for me when I was away, demonstrating a great sense of responsibility I'm definitely looking for someone in the position of 'Shroom Directors. I'm very much confident they are the best fit right now for the position of Director and Sub-Director.
#Alex95 - They have always been awesome people and I'm excited to see where they go with this.
#Doomhiker They have shown a large amount of responsibility when it comes to managing large, difficult, projects, which is best shown with their excellent job helping host KGIII. They're definitely qualified.
